PRESIDENT’S COLUMN

This year is coming to an end fast. Your

dues are now due, so make sure you get

them in by end of December.

Club elections are over, and I would like

to congratulate all that were re-elected,

and welcome the two new directors to the

Board.

I would also like to thank the members

that took the time to come out and vote.

The Youth hunt this year was like every-

thing else with declining numbers, but the

ones that were there had fun and made

some memories they will not forget.

It’s always that youngster with the .410

that gets their two birds with two shots. The

conservation crew has plenty of birds in the

fields, so come out and hunt.

Just be mindful that there are Deer

hunters in the trees, Goose hunters around

the big lake, and short people in tall weeds,

so be careful and wear plenty of orange!

There is not much left on the calendar

except the Black powder meat shoot, so

dust off your old muzzle loader and come

shoot.

It’s hard to believe Christmas will be

here soon, and so will the ladies auxiliary

kids Christmas party. If you have kids that

want to attend, give Gail Walker a call and

get them signed up.

If you have not been to a meeting in a

while, you should come out. The kitchen is

open on meeting nights, and there is some

wonderful food coming through the win-

dow.

WOMEN’S AUXILIARY

Our next meeting will be on 12/7/16 at 6:30 PM. We will be wrapping presents for the Kid’s Christmas Party. The wrapping Party will take place in the clubhouse

. There won’t be a Euchre Party this month . Parties should resume in Janu-ary and they will continue to be held the third Saturday of each month at the club-house, all are welcome, so invite your family and friends. Cost is $6 and includes the entrée, cash and door prizes. Bring a dish to share and your own beverages. Contact Gail Walker at (937) 609-2215 for more information.

A VERY IMPORTANT WINTER WEATHER NOTICE!

The arrival of winter weather brings with it the realistic possibility that events at the club could be affected by hazardous winter weather conditions. Since January 1st, 2000 we have used the following weather policy:

If Greene County has declared a level 1 or higher snow emergency and is listed as such in TV, radio, and news broadcasts at 3 pm the day of any board or membership meeting, that meeting will be postponed and rescheduled to the same day and time the following week unless otherwise indicated.

Common sense should always be used when deciding whether or not to attend any club activity during inclement weather. To further determine the status of other sched-uled events at the club contact the chairperson in charge of that activity or refer to our website at www.gcfng.com.

NO HUNTING AT THE CLUB DURING THE STATEWIDE DEER

GUN SEASON!

All hunting is prohibited at the club during the annual statewide Deer Gun Season which will run from Monday 11/28 thru Sunday 12/4 this year. Thank you in advance for your un-derstanding and cooperation on this matter. Please plan accordingly.

NEW POSSIBILITIES

If there is a program, event or a type of shooting that you would like to see at your club, please pass along that infor-mation to a chairman or director. We are always looking for ways to enhance the club experience and draw in new shooters, sportsmen and wom-en. We’d love to hear from you!

WATERFOWL SEASON IS NOW HERE!

Club members are urged to use cau-tion around the big lake now through January as Waterfowl Season opened back on September 3rd. Yield to the yellow sawhorse across the road leading to the big lake and be aware that hunters may be present when it’s in place. Always think safety first!
