President’s Report December 2012
Hello Everyone, Merry Christmas
Our monthly meetings are held every first Thursday of each month and everyone is welcome to
come along to these meetings.
We had a fantastic fully booked!, Cutting Clinic with Trainer Mr Guy Morgan who worked under
very hot conditions but did an excellent job. We have also had some great comments from those
who participated that they learnt a lot from Guy’s clinic. Thanks Guy!.
The only negative we had prior to the weekend clinic was being terribly let down at the last minute
from the people that had told us weeks ago they would lend us their Mechanical Cow. After much
ringing around to find another cow, thankfully without hesitation Dean Bradley came to the rescue
and kindly lent his Mechanical Cow for the weekend. A special thanks to Dean.
Thanks must go to Peter Bear for preparing the arena for the clinic, Peter drove from Undera on his
tractor to do the preparation. And thanks to Rob Sargeant & Michael Truscott for mowing the
grounds
Thanks to our Canteen staff who manned the Canteen both days and on such very hot days, Julie,
Karna, Wendy and Michelle, great effort ladies!.
We also met the members from the new Jumping Club who walked across to our Canteen at lunch
time on the Saturday and bought their lunch at our Canteen. Good to sit and have a chat and meet
all of them, it was their inaugural day at the grounds.
Mr John Lyle President of the Rec Committee also came and joined us for lunch and got to meet the
members of the new jumping club.
We gained 3 new members due to the clinic and made a profit for the club.
Thanks must go to Noel who watered the arena prior to the weekend. Noel had to also purchase 2
new sprinkler heads as the original heads had been stolen. The thieves had been at it again!
Thanks to Jim and Kay Hodgson for supplying and lending all of the cattle for both days of the
clinic at no cost and Peter and Michelle Bear supplied the Hay for the cattle, thank you!.
Signed
Ricky Kilburn
President

Karna suggested Jim Hodgson who supplied cattle for the Cutting Clinic at no cost, be given a slab of Beer, even though he didn't want anything!, all agreed.
Amanda said she would like to book another Ross Jacobs clinic for 16th and 17th, February 2013. Everyone was agreeable to the dates.
Genny Prior re dates for Team Penning not looking good.
―AA‖ Show, Loni Hensell wanted to know when the programs would be available?.
General Business:
Insurance quote passed around for everyone to read, Carole Moore asked if pumps were included in policy and also the building is not brick. Question as to the machinery break down what it consisted of?. Karna to speak to Insurer. All thought quote was very reasonable.
Peter and Michelle Bear cannot make it to Christmas party Sunday.
Peter Bear said he would like it noted for the new year budget, the club to purchase several loads of sand for the arena valuing approximately $4000. Peter also said if the club doesn't put more sand down, the cutters would not come to the cutting show and he himself would consider resigning from the club as it was vital to the welfare of all horses soundness that performed on the arena at the cutting show.
Peter and Michelle also said they wanted the prize money for all events at the Cutting Show, increased from $300 to $400 and that they Peter and Michelle would make up the short fall out of their own pockets. The club would need to put in another $1000 to boost prize money from $300 to $400 and the Bears will put in the difference.
The cutting show dates are April 13th and 14th, 2013.
Peter said he had tentatively booked to interstate judges for the cutting show and still had to get costs of the judges.
Julie said this Sunday is our Christmas Party which is free to all members and it is also a normal Club day and members can still bring their horses.
Julie also said the new club members for the jumping club indicated they may come over.
Amanda said she has some more blue barrels for the club.
Peter said he would like to cut barrels in half to use for more rubbish bins.
Carole Moore said she was concerned that if we ask other feeds merchants for sponsorship at the cutting show, that it may upset coprice.
Karna said the other sponsor letters that had been sent out to feed merchants is for the ―AA‖ Show and not the cutting show.

CHRISTMAS PARTY & CLUB DAY
MRWPC CLINIC REPORT
ROSS JACOBS-GOOD HORSEMANSHIP DEMO AND CLINIC WEEKEND
DEMO EVENING OF NOV 9TH
SATURDAY, SUNDAY AND MONDAY- 10TH, 11TH, 12TH NOV CLINIC LESSONS.
Fantastic clinic held once again with 6 new inductees to the Ross Jacobs clinic format.
A total of 22 lessons were held, finishing at 1pm on the Monday.
The demo evening saw about 16 people come along on a cool windy evening. Ross spoke a lot about his approach to horsemanship. His basic send home message was that if you can under-stand the principles behind good horsemanship then methods become irrelevant. The demo night went for almost 2 hours and Ross answered questions from the small crowd gathered around the yard.
The clinic ran smoothly with 11 different people/horse combinations and some clients took up extra lessons during the weekend after having their initial lesson with Ross. We enjoyed a much needed break at the Falcon Hotel on the Saturday evening. Ross left after the last lesson conclud-ed at 1pm Monday to drive back to Delungra.
FUTURE ROSS JACOBS CLINIC DATES- BOOKINGS NOW OPEN
February 16-17 This will be prior to the Joe Wolter Colt Starting and Horsemanship clinic run-ning in Geelong later in February. For more info on Joe Wolter contact Amanda.
Another clinic might be pencilled in for late November, no date being agreed upon as yet.
