emotions in golf lovers interested to seehow their favourites fare. The latest onefrom Golf Digest has generated some con-versation – and not just for the placementof the 30 courses that made the list.
what raised some eyebrows was theinclusion of Sagebrush Golf & SportingClub in Merritt, B.C. It finished in 18thplace, up one position from the previousranking, despite not being open for thepast two years.
In its last ranking of the top 100 Cana-dian courses, SCoReGolf left the courseoff the list due to its situation. It was 10thin the Canadian publication’s previouslist in 2014.
After some financial troubles, thecourse was sold in 2015 to the newarkGroup. It said construction was neededon the facility and that it would not openfor play in 2016. That continued into thespring of 2017 and Sagebrush failed toopen for a second year.
Last month, the newark Group’sowner, Mark Chandler, was in court fac-ing extradition to the United Stateswhere he was facing charges on fraud re-garding real estate dealings.
That led to the resignation of thecourse’s general manager and newark’spresident of golf operations. It’s uncer-tain just what Sagebrush’s future holdsand whether it will open for play in2018.” —www.tsn.ca

operation Christmas Child is a shoebox drive started in 1993. To date, 135million boxes have been collected anddistributed to children around the world.It is one way to remind children who aresuffering as a result of war, poverty,famine, disease and disaster that they are loved and not forgotten.
