Altar Flowers MemorialEach week you may honor a loved one with a giX of $150 to dedicate the floral arrangement that adorns our sanctuary. Please call the Church O^ce to make your giX.
Memorial GiftsAt the death of a loved one, many choose in lieu of flowers to encourage friends and family to make a donation to a special charity or cause. Our Lady of Mercy has nourished the spiritual life of so many parishioners and those throughout the Diocese who come here. A Memorial GiX to our parish and school is a wonderful way to acknowledge the lives of our beloved dead with a giX of loving generosity to the church that has been such a spiritual home. Ms. Deanie Smith can discuss beautiful ways for you to remember your loved one.
Consider adding a planned gi. in your last will and testament to remember Our Lady of Mercy.

THE BELLS OF EASTER
One of the most glorious moments in the Church’s liturgical year is the proclamation of the Easter Gloria at the Easter Vigil Mass. Once the Old Testament readings conclude, the dark interior of the church is illuminated, the organ sounds forth, and the voices of God’s people joyfully proclaim the glory of the Lord. Traditionally, the Easter Gloria is a time when bells are rung. !e bells of Mercy will peal from the tower, and our sanctuary bells will ring. All parishioners attending the Easter Vigil are invited to bring bells to take part in the celebration. When the church bells ring and the Gloria begins, make a joyful noise unto the Lord by ringing your bell.

HOLY WEEK
Chrism Mass
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 23
All parishioners are invited to St. Joseph Cathedral at 10:30 am to attend the Mass of Chrism with Bishop Muench. All Priests and Deacons of the Diocese of Baton Rouge will join the Bishop. De Bishop will consecrate the three Holy Oils: De Oil of the Sick, the Oil of Catechumens, and the Holy Chrism. Dese oils will be used for all Sacramental anointing of the faithful throughout the coming year. De Holy Oils will be presented in our own parish liturgy on Holy Dursday. It is at this Mass that the priests will renew their vows of celibacy and obedience to the Bishop.
Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper
THURSDAY, MARCH 24
Dis evening the Church enters the three High Holy Days of the Sacred Triduum gathering to pray and building toward the prolonged Vigil of Saturday night. Dis evening’s celebration, the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, is the threshold liturgy of the Triduum. It commemorates the institution of the Sacraments of Holy Eucharist and the Priesthood. At this Mass, the feet of 12 parishioners will be washed by our pastor as the sign of service that the Church is called to be to one another, just as Jesus did at the Last Supper. ARer Mass the Blessed Sacrament will be reposed in the opened Tabernacle. Parishioners are encouraged to spend time in silent prayer before the Eucharist. In doing so, we are mindful of the words of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Stay here and keep watch with me.” De church will remain open until 10:00 pm.
Good Friday
FRIDAY, MARCH 25
On this day, the parish community gathers to prayerfully recall the Death of Jesus. De Church celebrates NO MASS on Good Friday. De Solemn Way of the Cross will be prayed in our church at 12:00 noon. De Good Friday service will be held at 3:00 pm. It consists of the reading of the Passion, Veneration of the Cross, and Distribution of Holy Communion.
Holy Saturday
SATURDAY, MARCH 26
Please Note: Dere is no 4:00 or 6:00 pm Vigil Mass. Our Easter Vigil begins at 8:00 pm and gathers around the blessing of the Easter fire.
Shattering the darkness, the great Paschal candle is lit with the Easter fire, wax nails are embedded, and it becomes the symbol of the crucified Christ. De Paschal Mystery, already celebrated in various ways since the evening of the Mass of the Lord’s Supper, is clearly and joyfully announced from the very beginning of the Vigil Liturgy. It is in the light of the Paschal candle that the liturgy continues to unfold. De Easter Vigil is the most beautiful of the all liturgies. Ranking highest among the celebrations of the liturgical year, it should rank highest in the spiritual life of the parish community; not a small task in places where Christmas can sometimes be considered the high point.
It is at this Mass that the Church welcomes our new members into the Catholic community through Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. A reception will follow for everyone in the Parish Activity Center.
Easter Sunday
SUNDAY, MARCH 27
De Mass of the Lord’s Resurrection will be at 7:00 am, 9:00 am, 10:30 am, 12:00 noon, and 6:00 pm here at Our Lady of Mercy. Please consider inviting neighbors, friends or family who may not be churched at this time to join you and our family here at Our Lady of Mercy on this joyous Easter day.

DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
“JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU”Qe message of Divine Mercy is that God loves us – all of us – no matter how great our sins. He wants us to recognize that His mercy is greater than our sins, so that we will call upon Him with trust, receive His mercy, and let it flow through us to others, sharing His joy. Qe devotional practices revealed through St. Faustina were given to us as “vessels of mercy” through which God’s love can be poured out upon the whole world.
As a community of faith, we pray the sung Divine Mercy Chaplet following the 6:00 pm Mass for nine Tuesdays in preparation of Divine Mercy Sunday. We invite you to pray the Chaplet with us for the remaining TUESDAYS - MARCH 22 AND MARCH 29.
We also invite you to join us for a special viewing of the “Original Divine Mercy Documentary” on THURSDAY, MARCH 31 at 7:30 pm in our church. You can watch the trailer here: www.divinemercyfilm.com
