And when I do have to put myself in the line of fire, it had slotting well better be for a fat credstick, not for some corporation’s profit thinly disguised as nationalism.” Description: The Mercenary Rigger has a wide variety of technical and combat skills, ranging from personal or remotecontrol combat to hacking to repairing and modifying drones and vehicles. The Mercenary Rigger isn’t as tough as a dedicated street samurai and isn’t quite as good at hacking as a dedicated hacker, but has enough flexibility to make up for it. Tactics: You have a lot of tactical options, depending on what the situation calls for. When you do not have drones or vehicles available, you can shoot things effectively with your Ruger Thunderbolt (or if you don’t have your weapons, the holdout pistol concealed in your cyberarm). You also have a taser, which while less powerful than your Ruger is entirely legal. You also have a Shock Glove for emergencies, but it’s much less effective than your guns. You have Exexplosive ammo for killing people and SticknShock ammo for taking them alive; normally, you should probably have Exexplosive ammo in both your Ruger and your cyber holdout pistol, since you can tase anyone you don’t want to kill. As a hacker, you rely on speed and stealth. Try to break through the firewall quickly with your Exploit program, and then grab what you need and run any alarms will be delayed for a bit by Mute. You should generally hack from AR to avoid risking your neck, since you have 3 initiative passes either way, but you can hack from Hotsim if you really want the bonus. If you can sneak in undetected, try Disarming the Analyze program of the node you’re on so they can’t find you as you poke around. The Ford LEBD­1 is Restricted (as is the assault rifle mounted on it), but you do have a fakelicense. It can be used for aerial recon and also for remote combat support.

The Repeater Drone can be used to sneak into places and extend the range of wireless signals;you can, for example, have it sneak up to an isolated low­signal node you want to hack.

The Flying Eye Drone is for extra­stealthy recon; it is extremely hard to spot between its smallsize and chameleon coating.

If you want to spend Edge on a test and are rolling 13 or more dice, you’re better off spending theedge after rolling to reroll failures.

He has a ton of contacts in the shadowcommunity and uses them to great effect. He’s been acting as the front man for the Metahumanrights groups for a couple months now, working toward legitimatizing the Ork Underground.

Change Log: Cyberguns are in fact Exotic Range Weapons, rather than the normal firearms skillfor their type (ie, a Cyber Holdout Pistol is not a Pistol). Corrected the Mercenary Rigger’sdicepool, but did not replace the pistol since it’s still useful.

2/10/2012: It was pointed out to me that the restriction on needing to buy and upgrade Firewalland System by the same rules as hardware modules was removed in an unlisted erratabetween SR4A editions. Upgraded commlink to Firewall 6 and saved some money, spent itbuying bullets.
