POLICYThe Mental Health Commission of NSW has adopted the NSW Health Code of Conduct Policy Directive (PD2015_049, attached as Appendix A). Staff, contractors and volunteers at the Mental Health Commission are required to comply with the policy.
To aid interpretation of the NSW Health policy at the Commission, the following references in the policy should be read as the equivalent term of the Commission:

PROCEDUREThe Commission’s staff, contractors and volunteers, whether employed or engaged on a permanent, temporary or casual basis, will comply with the Code of Conduct.
Manager, Business Operations will:
1. Provide advice to the Commissioner in relation to the appropriate action to be taken in relation to an identified breach of the Code of Conduct
2. Ensure that the policy and procedure are part of the induction of new staff, contractors and volunteers, and the training and education program for Commission staff, contractors and volunteers
3. Ensure that continuing staff, contractors and volunteers agree to, and re-sign the Code of Conduct on a biennial basis
4. Review the signed Codes of Conduct of all staff, contractors and volunteers annually

The Commissioner will determine the management response to identified Code of Conduct issues in accordance with the policy.
