Agnucaston® • Composition: 1 film-coated tablet contains the following active ingredients: 4.0 mg dry extract derived from chaste tree fruit (Special extract BNO 1095) (7–11:1); extracting agent: ethanol 70 % (V/V). Other ingredients: Lactose monohydrate 25.0 mg, ammonium methacrylate-copolymer (type A); iron (III) oxide (E 172), indigo carmine (E 132) aluminium salt, potato starch, lactose monohy-drate, magnesium stearate, Macrogol 6000, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone (30), highly disperse silicon dioxide, talcum, titanium dioxide (E171), Note for diabetics: Agnucaston contains per single dose less than 0.01 carbohydrate exchange units (CEU). Indications for use: Menstrual rhythm anomalies, premenstrual syndrome, mastodynia. Contraindications: Do not take Agnucaston: in case of known allergy against chaste tree fruit or any other ingredient of the medicine; in pituitary tumors; in mastocarcinoma. Pregnant women must not take/discontinue taking Agnucaston because there are no adequate data for the use of Agnucaston in pregnant women. Lactating women must not take Agnucaston because there are no adequate data for the use of Agnucaston during lactation. Studies in animals have shown a reduction of milk production. The package leaflet informs the patient as follows: In case of breast pain and breast swelling as well as menstrual disorders, consult a doctor because the symptoms may require further medical examination. Warnings: A regulation of the menstrual cycle also increases the probability of becoming pregnant. Patients with the rare hereditary galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take Agnucaston. Pregnancy and lactation: Pregnant women must not take/discontinue taking Agnucaston because there are no adequate data for the use of Agnucaston in pregnant women. Lactating women must not take Agnucaston because there are no adequate data for the use of Agnucaston during lactation. Studies in animals have shown a reduction of milk production. Adverse effects: After taking medicines that contain chaste tree fruit, symptoms such as headache, itching or abdominal pain like nausea, stomach ache or lower abdominal pain have been reported. Additionally, cases of systemic hypersensitivity reactions with exanthema, urticaria, Quincke’s disease, dyspnea and swallowing problems have been described. Temporary psychomotor restlessness, confusion and hallucinations have been observed. There are no data available on the frequency of these possible adverse effects. The package leaflet informs the patient to discontinue administration especially at the first signs of a hypersensitivity reaction and to consult a doctor.

Mastodynon® Tablets • Composition: One tablet contains the following active ingredients: Agnus castus ø 162.0 mg, Caulophyllum thalictroides Dil. D 4 81.0 mg, Cyclamen Dil. D 4 81.0 mg, Ignatia Dil. D 6 81.0 mg, Iris Dil. D 2 162.0 mg, Lilium tigrinum Dil. D 3 81.0 mg. Other ingredients: Lactose monohydrate, potato starch, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.). Note for diabetics: One Mastodynon tablet contains on average 0.020 countable carbohydrate units [bread units = BU]. Mastodynon tablets are gluten-free. Indications for use: Homeopathic gynaecological remedy. Therapeutic indications are based on the homeopathic drug pictures. These include: Complaints prior to menstruation such as breast pain and tender breasts (mastodynia). Complaints during menstruation and during irregular menstruation (menstrual disorders). Seek medical advice in case of persisting, unclear or recurring complaints. Such symptoms may be associated with a serious disease and might require medical attention. Contraindications: Do not administer Mastodynon Tablets in case of: Hypersensitivity against Agnus castus and/or Caulophyllum thalictroides and/or Cyclamen (or other primrose species) and/or Ignatia and/or Iris and/or Lilium tigrinum. Pituitary gland tumors (neoplasm of the pituitary gland) and mamma carcinoma (breast cancer). There are no adequate data on the use of this drug during pregnancy. Do not take / discontinue taking Mastodynon Tablets in case of pregnancy. Do not take Mastodynon Tablets while breastfeeding. There are no adequate data on the use of Mastodynon Tablets while breastfeeding. A reduction in milk production was observed in animal studies. This drug contains lactose. It is not suited for patients with rare hereditary galactose intolerance, hereditary lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Warnings: There are no adequate data on the use of this drug in children. Children younger than 12 years should not take Mastodynon Tablets. There are no additional precautions if Mastodynon Tablets are taken as directed. Pregnancy and lactations: Discontinue taking Mastodynon Tablets if you get pregnant, because there are no adequate data on the use of Mastodynon Tablets during pregnancy. Do not take Mastodynon Tablets while breastfeeding. There are no adequate data on the use of Mastodynon Tablets in breastfeeding women. A reduction in the milk production was observed in animal studies. Adverse effects: Uncommenly, there may be nausea with vomiting, gastrointestinal complaints, slight weight gain, itching skin rashes, acne and headache. In very rare cases, the administration of Agnus castus containing medicines may result in temporary psychomotor restlessness, confusion and hallucinations. Note: Administration of homeopathic medicines may result in a temporary worsening of existing complaints (initial worsening). In this case, discontinue taking the medicine and consult your doctor.
