So another season passes and you really can’t beat London Collections: Men for its pure diversity and direction. Diverse in the sense of the word from the designers that showcased their enemies talents to the attendees that funneled out along the Old Sorting office wooden slated wall after the shows.

The usual three-day showcase was extended to four with a greater emphasis on collection presentations amongst the catwalk shows that you can’t beat for that extended gaze at eye catching pieces. So my LCM highlights; where do i start? in terms of the runway shows you have to start with Christopher Baileys Burberry collection, which was outstanding. Forget the buzz, the amazing setting and the capacity fashion elite in attendance. This for me has to be Mr Bailey’s best collection yet and that’s against a very high standard of shows that had been and gone before. The way he managed to combine several bold colours, camouflage, leopard and paisley print with a masterclass of how to do layering deserves the highest praise. He even had time to construct a new fringed Burberry check scarf.

My other highlights from the shows included e. Tautz which once again showed a masterclass in voluminous outerwear created from a grey on grey colour palette, alongside The Topman Design show which opened the four days with a striking 70’s inspired visual delight. another personal favourite was Casely-Hayford with the father son duo producing a rebellious collective that was to represent ‘outsiders and runaways’. To add a little ambiance to the show Wiz Khalifa decided he would light a joint up mid show! Tiger of Sweden was also in the mix for putting on an energetic show of sharp wearable tailoring combinations.

There’s a huge crossover between fashion and film, and the question of ‘where can I buy that’ often floats around online forums. With costumes from film often being locked away or kept secret, it’s refreshing to see the recent Kingsman collection launched by Mr Porter and Kingsman: The Secret Service.

The film, featuring Colin Firth and Samuel L Jackson is an English spy film based on the cult comic book. Arianne Phillips (costume designer) Toby Bateman (Buying Director of Mr Porter) and Matthew Vaughn (Director) have developed a 60-piece collection worn in the film… which can also now be bought at Mr Porter.

RETHINK COLOUR IN YOUR CLOSETWith a new start to the year, it’s a good idea to not only evaluate your personal items but also the colour you choose to wear everyday. Just because its winter and you may be veering towards 50 shades of blue, doesn’t mean you should stick with dark shades.an intuitive colour injection every now and again can really enhance great pieces that may seem tired or “last season”.

instead of teaming just classic dark winter, greys, navy and black; place a bright accent somewhere in there; whether it be in footwear or accessory. Your look will be instantly transformed from looking drab into something aesthetically pleasing to the eye.Orange and red are good shades to work with; warm and dominant – these colours will help tie a dark head-to-toe look together well. Chose from these colours to integrate into your daily look…

The bench press is a classic exercise that every gym goer uses in order to improve the size and shape of their chest. This exercise can be completed with either dumbbells or a barbell, my personal preference is dumbbells as i believe this works my chest more as a whole. My main tip for improving the size of your chest is to squeeze your chest at the top of the repetition and hold for a second before slowly lowering the weights. The bench press also works your triceps which will tone your arms.
