TIGERS ‘BOUNDING THE BOARDS IN2012-13 • A lot of talk in head coach Josh Pastner’sfirst

three seasons centered about rebounding and the Tigers’ frustration in that area.

• It looks as if that’s been corrected this season. • Memphis is out-rebounding its opponents by an

average margin of +5.0 boards per game (37.3-32.3), which is third in Conference USA.

• In C-USA games only (nine contests), the Ti-gers’ rebound margin is +6.6 boards per game (39.2-32.6), which is second in the league.

• The Tigers have won the board battle 16 times this season, including games with Minnesota, Ohio, Louisville and Harvard.

• The following shows how the Tigers have done ontheglassinPastner’stenure(first23gamesof each season only):

IT’S A BLOCK PARTY • After leading C-USA in blocks a year ago (5.6

bpg), Memphis began 2012-13 averaging only 3.9 blocks in the first seven games (27 totalblocks).

• Well, the Tigers have picked up their intensity on the defensive end in the last 16 games with 126 total blocks (7.9 bpg).

• In each of the last 16 games, Memphis had no fewer than four blocks.
