THE HOLY LAND CHRISTIANS ARE OUR GUESTS

HEAR THEIR STORY AND BUY THEIR BEAUTIFUL OLIVEWOOD CRAFTS On November 11-12, 2017, after all masses, we will be hosting at the Church Narthex a nice display of handmade olivewood religious carvings from Bethlehem and Jerusalem available for purchase. These carvings include olive wood nativity sets, crucifixes, rosaries, Christmas ornaments, candle holders, angels and many other religious crafts that make nice wedding, baptism, Easter, and especially Christmas gifts. These carvings are handmade by Catholic families in Bethlehem who rely on sales for their daily bread. For more than ten years Beth-lehem Christians have been enduring many hardships as tourism in Bethlehem has plummeted and access to other sources of income has been sharply restricted due to the ongoing conflict. Many Christians left their homeland. The Christian population of the Holy Land went down from 30% in the last century to almost 1% today. Please help support our Catholic brothers and sisters in Bethlehem by purchasing their carvings. George Ghanem, an indigenous Chris-tian from Bethlehem will be standing by the carvings after all masses. Let us keep Bethlehem a Christian town forever. All proceeds go to support Christian artisans from Bethlehem. It is never too late to help. Faithfully in Christ,

George Ghanem Dr. George Ghanem

In November, we are reminded of our many blessings as we also remember those who need our help. As part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness in Nov., we are asking parishioners to donate supplies needed for the Winter Homeless Shelter through Haven Ministries. You can bring the items to put in the designated box in the Hall (by the Haven Ministries Bulletin Board) throughout the month. Items needed are: boxes of disposable plastic gloves, tall 13 gal. trash bags, Lysol Spray room disinfectant, Clorox wipes, tissue boxes, small paper dessert plates, paper soup bowls, heavy Chinet Dinner Plates, napkins, plastic ware, Men's PJ bottoms (size L or XL), Women’s PJs (size L or XL) and inexpensive pillows. By your generosity and showing compassion, we can transform homelessness and begin to restore dignity to all our neighbors in need!
