Memorial Care Medical Centers
By: Ebonni Davis, Adam Nicholas, And Amy
Story
OVERVIEW
On March 19, 2007, Group Four Testing, Inc. received a request for proposal from Memorial Care Medical Centers. We began by studying the background of Memorial Care and their competition so that we could grasp how business is handled not only within Memorial Care itself, but the entire field of health services as a whole.
The primary objective of this measure was to fully understand what functions the website serves, and if it is fully withstanding the demands of those functions.
We used this research and combined it with our background research to compose a model usability test which we then submitted to a sample of employees from within Group Four Testing.

Why Conduct a Usability Test? (cont’d)
“A company’s website can be loaded with information, but if that information is difficult to locate, it can turn a customer off of the company as fast”
Facts about Usability Testing Why is Usability Testing required for
Memorial Care? Our Goal for Memorial Care’s Website
Expected Benefits of a Usability Test
A usability test will help Memorial Care…– Learn whether your users understand the value of the web site– Pinpoint specific areas of a web site (e.g. navigation, content,
functionality) that may need changes– To feel empowered during the decision making process regarding
the next phase of testing– Save time and avoid the expense of major revisions– Improve retention rates of users– Uncover critical glitches, such as site availability, to prevent
abandonment– Minimize the risk of operating a site that does not properly address
user needs

Analysis of Model Testing
Observations from the testers– the large picture graphic on the home page – lack of consistency from the pages for different
hospitals – lack of use of the main search box in the top

Expected Results and Benefits
We anticipate that once we conduct a full-scale test and analysis, the results will lead us to recommend some very beneficial, albeit somewhat drastic, changes to the Memorial Care site.
We expect our recommendations to examine and provide examples of alternate layouts that could be utilized to make the immense information of the Memorial Care site more organized and efficient
Anticipate to put more prominence on the awards and recognition that the Memorial Care sites have received over the years
Thank You
For Your Time and Patience
