Presentación En esta memoria se exponen los logros y actividades

realizadas por los investigadores del Instituto de Alta Investigación (IAI)

durante el año 2013. Este año fue altamente productivo y exitoso: se

publicaron 56 trabajos en revistas científicas ISI (Institute of Scientific

Information), de los cuales 6 presentan co-autoría entre miembros del IAI,

además se lograron 9 publicaciones en otros índices, 1 capítulo de libro y 44

presentaciones a congresos (nacionales e internacionales). También se

dirigieron y finalizaron 11 tesis (4 de pregrado, 4 de magíster y 3 de

doctorado). La totalidad de estos registros fue posible gracias al apoyo

financiero de 15 proyectos Fondecyt, 12 proyectos de diversos organismos y de

la Universidad de Tarapacá. Esto contribuye al desarrollo en la formación del

capital humano avanzado y a continuar impulsando la investigación en Chile.

Destacados investigadores internacionales provenientes de

Brasil, Estados Unidos, Argentina, Perú, Francia, entre otros, visitaron nuestro

Instituto y colaboraron en diferentes proyectos de investigación.

Esto permitió la realización en conjunto de diversos Talleres y publicaciones

científicas de alto nivel, la generación de nuevas redes de trabajo y

continuar con la proyección internacional de nuestra Unidad. Por último

queremos destacar la entusiasta labor de todos los investigadores y el elevado

nivel de compromiso de los ayudantes de laboratorio y personal de apoyo. La

suma de estos esfuerzos personales se transforma en un logro colectivo que

permite generar importantes trabajos científicos en un grato ambiente laboral.
