Gal. 4:4 – “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law.” Jesus was born under the law so that He might fulfill the law in our place. His perfect righteousness is credited to us. And it is this free for-giveness of sins and this crediting of righteousness that sets us free to follow our Lord in godly living. Since we are freed from the law’s condemnation, we are freed from any mercenary attitudes. Now that the Lord has shown His love to us in saving us, we freely show our thanks to Him in generosity, humility, and kindness.

SPECIAL MINISTRY Church Un-decorating— We will need many hands to help un-decorate the church building, inside and outside, on January 5 following the late service. Please put this on your calendar and plan to help. Lots of decorations need to be put away for another year. MINISTRY WORSHIP CHANGE: Beginning January 2020 the 10:45 a.m. late Worship service will NOW begin at 11:00 a.m. & Sunday School/Bible Class will begin at 9:45 a.m. These changes were made from the Voter’s meeting of 11/24/2019.
New Bible Study! Steward-ship Basics is a new eight part bible study from the LCMS Stewardship Ministry designed to help congregations start a
discussion on whole-life ministry. As we enter the new year, we’d like to organize this study for the congregation as a way to bring us together, focus on our relationship with God and how that relationship can em-power the way we live each day. There is a survey at the welcome center for interested people to review and complete. The survey can be found on our website as well. Based on feedback, we will publish timing and details. We will be observing Sanctity of Human Life Sunday on January 19th by kicking off our Baby Bottle Boomerang(B3) to benefit Care Net Pregnancy Centers of Berkley | Detroit. Here’s how it works: Pick up a baby bottle on January 19 or one of the following Sun-days, leaving your name and a contact number so we can keep track of who takes a bottle. You may fill it with spare change — but paper money and checks are great, too! Bring your bottle back by Sunday, February 9, so we can return them to Care Net. For questions, please contact Lee Anne Millinger at 248-417-9526. Young Adults is a group of post-college age to 30 something who gather together to fellowship in Bible study and events. NEW WAY for Box Tops for Education are now submitted by downloading the Box Top App to your phone. Register by using our zip code, 48067, to locate our school.
Simply scan any receipt that has the Box Tops logo on items you purchased. That’s it, we will then be credited. Many of our food products we have in our cupboards, have these. For those that don’t like using the app, continue to bring them in. Thank you. NOTES The Book Nook—We have a great selec-tion of birthday, anniversary, sympathy and specialty cards that are available for only 50 cents each. Come check it out by the lobby doors.
New 2020 Church Phone Directory— Any Address/Phone number changes are needed for yourself or any member in your
family for our church directory, now’s the time to let us know. Info needs to be in the church office by January 30. If you are not using your landline number anymore and are using a cell number as a main line, please let the office know so this can be printed in the directory as well as our rec-ords in the office. We thank you for your generous donations throughout the past year! We are beginning again in January to collect for 2020. Each month a different item(s) will be listed. You can place items in the wood box located in the lobby coatroom. January: Washcloths. The Installation of New Officers and Board Members will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 during the services. Electronic Giving — A new year is about to begin. Rachel Meyer Uganda Missionary of St. Paul— Rachel will be visiting us on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. and will be telling us all about her mis-sion in Uganda. Everyone is invited to come and hear Rachel and all are welcome to join us for a potluck luncheon around 12:00 p.m. Bring a dish to share.
