Churchill-Waverley Golf & Bowls Club—Waverley Trophy Congratulations to all those that have progressed to the quarter finals. There will break this weekend for Labour Day. The Quarter Finals will be played Saturday 18 March at the Waverley site.

Golf Victoria Pennant & Colts—2017 The season is approaching fast as we prepare for season 2017. Unfortunately we have had to forfeit the division 5 colts team due to lack of numbers which is disappointing. However, this should strengthen our division 2 colts team. Next Thursday at the Waverley site will see our season launch and it will be great if as many members can get down to the club and support the guys . Also please do not forget our fundraising for the squad listed below: Major Raffle—Drawn 1 April. 1st Prize (1 x 7 Day Membership), 2nd Prize (Cleveland Bag), 3rd Prize (Titleist Messenger Bag). Tickets $10 and available for purchase from the Pro Shops or Offices. 100 Club—For a donation of $100 members receive a “100 Club Supporter” Cap + more. 200 Club—Support a designated player for the season for $200 Major Sponsor— We are pleased to announce the Kelly Cup Bushrangers have kindly assisted as a major sponsor of Golf Victoria Pennant & Colts, further information to follow! Additional sponsorship opportunities still exist and further information can be found by contacting Tim O’Sullivan or Matthew Taylor. We look forward in anticipation to the first Pennant Season for CWGBC.

Churchill-Waverley Golf & Bowls Club—Course news Churchill site Following the green renovations on February 27 the greens are repairing very well. However, there was some minor damage caused to a couple of the green by the coring machine particularly on the 11th hole. We anticipate this to repair quickly.

Churchill-Waverley Golf & Bowls Club—Tee time Cancellation Just a reminder to all members to make sure that they cancel their booking when they are

unable to play. Also if you are running late for your tee time please contact the appropriate pro

shop and let them know. They will be able to find you another group at a later time. This is just a

courtesy to your fellow members who might be left without playing partners and miss out on a

game.

Churchill-Waverley Golf & Bowls Club—Seniors Tip away Our Seniors trip away is coming up fast. Arrival at Rich River golf Club resort is on Sunday April

30 and departing on Wednesday 3 May. There are still spots available so if you are interested

please contact Reception at the Waverley site to put your name down or for more information

contact Len Frost via the club. Non golfing partners are welcome to attend.

Member Weekly Update—10 March 2017 Ladies Golf Update Senior Ladies played at Centenary Park on Monday. Congratulations to Roberta McQuillan and Eva Moore who won the event with 45 points playing 4BBB. If any one would like to join Senior Ladies please contact Ann Robbins.

Ladies Matchplay Championships: Next week will be the Semi final round at Churchill park. Good luck ladies. Thirty six ladies not involved with the Matchplay championships played Stableford. Congratulations to A grade winner Veena Mali (13) with a score of 36 CB. B Grade winner was Monika Treloar (31) 37 and C grade Christine Liao (37) 38 points. Nine hole winner was Lyn Davison.

Sunday Ladies competition will be commencing this week at Waverley. Prizes will be awarded according to the size of the field.

Put in your diaries Shirley Smith’s plant sale at Churchill Park on March 15 from 1pm. These plants are quality native plants propagated by Shirley and her team of volunteers. Proceeds of the sale will go towards an automated scoring system at Churchill.

The next Wednesday Ladies Competition at Churchill Park is an Irish fun day played in teams of four. Wear green and a funny hat. Lunch will include Andrew’s famous baked potatoes.

BOWLS COMMITTEE AND SUB-COMMITTEE ELECTIONS Nominations are now open for all Bowls Committee and Sub-Committee positions for the 2017-2018. Nominations forms and role descriptions are now posted on the noticeboard in the Spikes Bar. Nomination closed at 9.00 AM on Wednesday 29th March. TWILIGHT BOWLS Come and join us for Twilight Bowls, starting at 6.30 PM on Thursdays.

Member Weekly Update—10 March 2017 Victorian Primary Schools Championship Congratulations to Amelia Goodwin (CWGBC Junior Member) who was the girls winner of the Victorian Primary Schools Qualifying at Pakenham GC last Tuesday. Amelia recorded an impressive round of 58 for 9 Holes to progress to the Regional Final at Warragul GC on Monday 13 November.

Functions at CWGBC Just a reminder to all members that if you or a member of your family have an upcoming event and are looking for a venue members receive free room hire for their function. Contact Tamara Vogel for more information.
