Dear Toco Hills NORC Members, One of my goals as your NORC Coordinator is to help you maintain your inde- pendence through offering you resources that educate you and provide you with praccal and tacle soluons. In support of this goal on Wednesday March 8th from 11:30 am—1 pm we will be offering a program called ‘Lunch N’ Punch.’ This program will empower you and help increase your awareness in potenally dangerous situaons. While there is a cost associated with the program please think of it as an in- vestment in your independence and safety as a member of the community. Please consider joining me for this very important session. Ashley Maloy, LMFT Member Spotlight: Betsy Cenker Betsy, a nave to Atlanta, has been involved with the NORC for 3 years. She was looking to engage more with her community and found the NORC to be a great opportunity for this. Betsy has long-standing relaonships with several other NORC members who grew up in the area as well. Betsy and her husband, whom she met through the naonal conference for synagogue youth, raised their 5 children here in Atlanta while aending Congrega- on Beth Jacob. Betsy worked in the office of day schools aſter aending business school and also taught pre-school. Betsy has an arst spirit and she loves to crochet, and create poery. She loves medical TV shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Code Black. Betsy’s proudest accomplishment is “the adults her children have turned into.” Betsy & her husband Michael have been married for 44 years! NORC Notes Volunteer with us at Project Open Hand:

Belinda Ossip leads our bi-monthly Health Power Initiative

(HPI) classes. For our March class we will travel as a group

to volunteer our time food sorting at Project Open Hand.

We will learn about food insecurity in our own community

and what we can do to help address it. Join us Wednesday,

March 29th from 9 am—12pm and remember to wear com-

fortable shoes!

Program Spotlight of the Month: Coffee &

Conversation with Cindy & Lily

Cindy & Lily lead us in monthly group discussions on a

variety of topics. So far we have discussed choosing to be

happy and communication. Cindy, a life coach, and her pet

therapy dog Lily, come to us with an open heart and a lis-

tening ear. This group offers support to one another as we

navigate this stage in life. Please join us on Tuesday March

28th at 10:30 am.

NORC Recipe Share:

Ann Brewer’s Blueberry Cobbler

(via Marcia Abrams)

Melt:

1 stick butter in casserole dish– approximately

13x9x2 inch or equivalent

Mix together & pour intocasserole dish:

1 cup Bisquick

1 cup sugar

1 cup milk

Add:

1 qt berries or other fruit such as

peaches, apples, plums or a combination of what-

ever you have.

Bake:

At 375 for 30 – 45 minutes until done

Serve with vanilla ice cream & enjoy!
