Clothing

A few tips on clothing for the snow:

The best idea for staying warm in the snow is to dress in layers. This simply means to dress using

layers of clothing (long sleeve top, then a vest and jumper, etc.) rather than one or two bulky

jackets. This not only keeps you warm but will allow you to regulate your temperature more easily

by having the option to remove or add layers.

If you do not have appropriate waterproof clothing for the snow, including gloves and goggles and

can’t borrow them from a friend, then you can hire them from Perisher Snowsports at the

Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre at your own cost. Mittens are recommended for those who

cannot easily straighten out their fingers to fit into gloves.

Bring a small backpack or sports bag to carry your

extra layers and a change of clothes in case you get

wet and cold. Spare gloves or mittens are also

good to bring if you have some.

Sunscreen is essential.

Please make sure you have your DWA membership

card with you on snow as it includes your medical

and emergency contact information. This

information is helpful for Ski Patrol in case their

assistance is required.
