One day ( I ) had a confusing dream
All the people were living in peace
When I woke up suddenly
I started to think of it.
GIRL 2
In my perfect world
everyone was laughing
there wasn't any war
and no one was crying
'cause we were all in peace
and nobody was fighting
we were all free
and the sun was shining.
BOYS CHOIR
Equality
Dignity
Fraternity
Responsibility
CHORUS
Mix our cultures in the melting pot
to create all together a new best world
where your culture doesn't mind
and hope is what you always find.
GIRL 1
Learn to forgive
rub out their tears
we must realize
that we are just one.
GIRL 2
Try to understand
we must lend our hand
Good bye ignorance!
Welcome tolerance!
CHORUS

THEME 3 BUTTERFLY
By Claudia Panach González and María Martín Hurtado
There will be a power point presentation together with the dance showing images about
age discrimination, to old people.
At the end there’s a message:
Care for them as they cared for you.
Later some drama starts.
There is a bench in a park or a bench. An old woman comes out and she stares at the
butterfly before sitting down.
Later a young woman comes from the other side of the stage.
Daughter: Hi mum!
Mother: Oh! My little Susie!
Daughter: Sorry, I was so busy, working, you know…
Mother: Don’t worry, sweetheart.
Uncomfortable silence.
Mother: How are you, my dear Susie?
Daughter: Fine, and you, mommy?
Mother: Very well… I’ve missed you so much. I hate this place…
The daughter’s mobile phone rings.
Daughter: Sorry, work. (…) What happened? (…) I can’t, I can’t do it right now.
(…) I’m with my mother, I told you. (…) OK, I'll call you later. Bye. (Talking
with her mother.) All right, what were you saying?
Mother: What’s that insect?
Daughter: It’s a butterfly, mum.
Mother: Oh. (A group of old people pass behind with walking sticks.) What’s that,
dear?
Daughter: What? I don’t see anything!
Mother: There were some people…
Daughter: ( Interrupting.) There’s nothing, mum!
Uncomfortable silence.
Mother: What’s that insect?
Daughter: A butterfly, I told you!
Mother: Oh, I’m so sorry.
The phone rings again.
Daughter: I don't mind… Oh, wait. (…) I can’t! (…) Yeah, I’ll mail you tonight.
(…) See you soon.
Mother: Love, what’s that insect? I like it…
Daughter: (Shouting.) A butterfly, mum, a butterfly! It’s the third time I tell you!
It’s a stupid butterfly!
Mother: Oh… Sorry for annoying you…
Could you read this to me, please?…
Daughter: Oh no mum! I've got lots of things to do!
Mother: You know... I can't see it. It's so small... Please, Susie...
Daughter: All right mom! I'll be late for everything!
She takes the diary and starts reading aloud.
24th May, 1986: Today, Susie asked me a hundred times,
“what’s that bird?” And I answered her, a hundred times, “It’s a robin, dear.”
But I don’t care. I don’t mind if I have to repeat her a thousand times. I love
her.
Oh… I feel so wrong, now… I'm really sorry mom!
I love you so much …
They hug and Susie kisses her.
There's a blackout and the spotlight stays on the butterfly dancer. She puts a small
butterfly in the melting pot.

ACT 1 SCENE 3
RACE DISCRIMINATION FINLAND
Rap song with a breakdance.
THEME 5 LET THE BEAT FLY
LET THE BEAT FLY
By Robin Korhonen
My start my turn
It´s time to start my burn
I have a message a mission
so would you please listen
I´m talking about that we´re seeing just black and white
and I know for a fact that ain´t right
it´s time to follow our instincs blind
and leave our delusions behind
think about all the friends you´ll find
and all those people with a happy smile.
So come on with us and let the beat fly
There are no races
just people living in this world
So stop acting that you´re selfish and cold
there´s no diving people in
what is the colour of their skin
Are we really so colorblind
that we´re seeing just black and white
why we can´t just unite
be together, all forever it´s time for evolution
bloodless revolution
that there would be no discrimination
or our entire civilization
So come on with us and let the beat fly
Black or yellow, white or brown
say that and you´ll make yourself a clown
we´re here to give a direction
and hope that it´ll have a reflection
So I need you to clap your hands
and give respect for this break dance
and if it got any fans
we´ll come back if we get a chance
So come on with us and let the beat fly
ACT 1 SCENE 4 TOLERANCE SPAIN
We listen to a military march and the captain comes out followed by the private and the
letters.
Captain: March! Right, left, right, left... HALT!
STEP FORWARD!
Captain: Private today we´ve got a really important mission. To stop wars, to stop
discrimination, to find peace we should look for an important world. You have
to combine some pieces to look for the key. Go and get them.
Private: All right my captain!
Come on soldiers (to the audience). You’re part of our army. You have to
help us.
Can you see any letter?
AUDIENCE: Yeeeeeeeeeeeees!
(All the letters come out running aimlessly)
Soldier: Stop! Be quiet! (they stop forming a word starting by once) Once…?
That’s a mess. Well, Let’s get this straight. Who are you?
R: I´m letter R! R of responsability, Rabbit, racism..
All the letters: Boooooooooooh
Private: Oh no. Not this way. Let's see if we're lucky. Can you look for your
place?
(The letters speak between them and the two letters E come forward)
E: Hi, we´re the e, e of enough, effort, equality
O: Ooooooh
A: EIiii
O: Oooh
A: Eiii
I: Aiii
E: Ii
(The vowels (I,O, E, A) start to do a rhythm)
Captain: Shut up! That´s enough. Private, again!
(the letters shuffle again and form another word)
Private: No, no, no, no! You, come forward!
C: Hello, I´m the C, c of car, computer, communication, comprehension and civism
Private: All right! Go to your place.
2N: Hi, what´s up!
I: They´re the ´in´´
N1: In?, No en!
N2: Shut up!
N1: Why?
N2: You´re silly!
N1: Oh yes. You’re stupid too, you know!
N2: I’m what? Will you repeat that? I bet you can’t!
N1: Of course I can. Who do you think you are?!
Captain: You two be quiet, right now! Stop talking like that! Where do you think
you are?
Start again, come on!
(The letters move and form the word intolerance)
Private: I don’t see it. There’s something wrong with this word, my captain.
Captain: What do you mean private? What´s wrong with this word? I can read it
perfectly. Can you read it too? (to the audience) What’s the word?
AUDIENCE: INTOLERANCE.
Private: I’m afraid this word is wrong, my captain. What do you think soldiers?
AUDIENCE: … It’s wrong!!!
Private: What can we do? Can you tell me?
K: Wait, wait! I’ve got the key, I’ve got the key! My captain, I’ve got the key.
I and N are wrong. It´s the T, she´s mute, and she doesn’t say anything. It’s
tolerance, she is the key!
Captain: You’re right soldier. These two are bothering us all the time and they
don’t let us find the perfect world/word. You two, I N get out of my sight right
now. And don’t ever come back.
You see TOLERANCE IS THE KEY.
BLACKOUT AND VIDEO STARTS.
We see a video with our students speaking about teaching tolerance.
All what I just learned and love in this world…
Comes directly from you.
Whatever your message is…
It will be a part of us forever.
Please…
Teach us to accept one another…
Teach us to respect one another.
Please do not fill our mind…
With hatred.
Don't expose us to bigotry
Don't teach us…
To judge each others.
By race…
…religion…
…orientation…
…or the colour of our skin.
Teach us the concept of tolerance.
Teach us…
To understand one another.
Teach us…
To accept people…
…of different cultures…
…and persons…
…with different beliefs than yours.
Please help us to create a world…
…where every man…
…woman…
…and child…
Is treated equally.
Dear parent…
Dear parent…
Please don’t teach us…
Words of hate,
We learn from you every moment.
If you use certain words…
Which may be hurtful to others…
We will repeat that word.
Please don’t show…
Acts of hate…
If you act against people…
Of different faiths…
We will repeat your actions.
Dear parent…
We are your children!
And we are relying on you…
…to help us to create a world…
…where every person…
Is tolerant to one another.
“many global conflicts
Come from deep-rooted
Hatred between different
Kind of people.
Please parenting responsibly
Please teach your children…
Tolerance ”
Music starts.
There’s a ppp accompanying the music.
Spot light for the 9 singers on stage.
Then all the lights on.
THEME 6 TOLERANCE IS THE KEY
TOLERANCE IS THE KEY
Music by Luis Bleda Jiménez
Lyrics by the Spanish Comenius group
No matter if you’re Muslim, Jewish, black or white.
‘Cause I always bear you in my mind.
We’re all imperfect and that we have to accept.
I can’t find anything better to help you but respect.
Get closer, we can paint a rainbow.
Hold my hand, I will never let you down.
You’ll never know what
Could be waiting outside.
But I know that next to you.
Everything’s gonna be alright.
CHORUS
They want to bring us down
But we won’t stop. (We won’t stop.)
We’re here together as one
I swear it’s true. (It’s true.)
We can change the world,
If we walk together.
Not to get lost.
Tolerance is the key.
Sometimes I need to apologize.
You know, I will never let you cry.
I never thought
That it would be easy.
‘Cause this world is too big and
It’s easy to get lost in it.
Look at us now,
We’re bigger, we’re bigger.
Look at us now,
We’re just one.
CHORUS

THEME 8 DEMOCRACY
DEMOCRACY
Music by Johanna Hurmerinta
Lyrics by the Finnish Comenius Group
You can vote for your ideology.
You can make a difference.
World is your playground
when it comes to deciding.
Democracy makes the world go round.
You´ll say what you want,
you´ll do what you like.
We are democracy,
we can rule together.
Your voice is heard.
You are important.
Your ideas build the society.
No one can shut your mouth.
You´ll say what you want,
you´ll do what you like.
We are democracy,
we can rule together.
ACT 2 SCENE 1
SPAIN
There are 3 students in the classroom and then the teacher arrives.
TEACHER: I was finishing my afternoon´s coffee, you know I can’t live without it.
Please take the computers.
BOY 1: It doesn’t matter. Shall we take the computers?
TEACHER: As I said before, yes, take your own computer and start working. Let's
get to work. The musical will be very soon.
They are all taking the computers and switching them on.
BOY 1: This computer isn’t working!
BOY 3: I can’t connect to the Internet!
TEACHER: All right, go and change your computers.
Suddenly one student arrives late.
GIRL: Sorry I´m late but I was talking with a Polish boy and a Finnish girl and
they told me that the chat meeting of today has to be one hour later.
TEACHER: It’s okay. Thanks, but I’m afraid that today we can´t connect. We have to
prepare our school presentation.
GIRL : Mrs Dori can we do an investigation?
BOY 2 : Oh come on! That’s so boring...
BOY 3 : Okay guys let´s do a brainstorm.
TEACHER: Oh yes that´s so good! It´s the best idea. Let´s start.
BOY 1: Why don´t we talk about the teachers?
BOY 2: It has to be something funny!
GIRL : Can we explain our lessons and subjects?
BOY 1: Why don’t we sing our hymn?(he starts singing)
En pie hijos de Gea...
Boy 2 stands up and sits with his partner on his chair.
BOY 3: (With his hand up) What about a power point explaining all the important
things at school?
TEACHER: That’s perfect. Let’s get started. You look for pictures of the school from
different times in the past. And you take the camera and go round the school to
take some pictures. This way we’ll include some history and some up-to-date
information as well. Come on, move!
Lights off and half people doing the power and the other whispering.
When the power point finishes …
GIRL: Oh it has been great, but I think we should show our city too. It´s
amazing!
TEACHER: I agree with you. Look for some nice pictures about Valencia and include
them.
BOY 3 : We can talk about the best team in the world: VALENCIA C.F.
GIRL: And what about the cathedral and the historical centre?
BOY 2: Yeah, and don’t forget to talk about our well-known festival: Fallas.
And the power point presentation starts with live music.
THEME 9 EL FALLERO
EL FALLERO
Music by José Serrano
Lyrics by Maximiliano Thous.
(translation)
Awakening our hearts Valencia is smiling
Through the flower fields summer is coming.
The children are crossing the street,
Gathering old stuff for the falla (bonfire monument).
And they keep up the tradition of this song.
There’s a little old rug for Saint Joseph’s falla (bonfire monument)
For uncle Joe, and they gather everything the neighbours get rid of
And with a splinter we follow the rhythm of this song.
My little girl, the ruler in our homes,
Thanks to you my heart is on flame.
Don’t ever go away from my love,
My little queen, fallera.
If you ever leave I’ll become a falla figure.
There’s a little old rug for Saint Joseph’s falla
For the falla (bonfire monument) in my street.
THEME 10 LLUNA MEDITERRÀNIA
By Teodoro Aparicio
Music in Valencian
(translation)
Let's sing loud a song of peace
and dream there's a better world.
Forget about your suffering
and you'll see the light of reasoning.
We'll be united through the distance
through the music in our hearts.
We'll fly above the clouds,
we'll forget all resentment and injustice,
we'll bring peace back in the people
and will find happiness.
Let's turn this song into a joy hymn
that takes away our thoughts
that help us to reflect
the people who forget their brothers
and the moon above the sky will smile
in her balcony over the sea.

and Finland is my homecountry. It is a very beautiful country shaped like a
young maiden. You see? There's her head, there's her arm and there is her skirt.
But now, I would like to introduce you some examples of Finnish food. You can
repeat the names after us and learn some Finnish at the same time.
(Pictures of food are projected to the screen.)

The choir: Mämmi.
Maiden of Finland: Ruisleipä.
The choir: Ruisleipä.
Maiden of Finland: Salmiakki.
The choir: Salmiakki.
Maiden of Finland: Didn't that look tasty? Many Finns are fans of these foods.
Especially these famous Finns propably like them a lot:
(Pictures of famous Finns are projected to the screen and they change after their
names are repeated.)
Maiden of Finland: May I introduce you the legendary hero of Kalevala, our national
epic: Väinämöinen.
The choir: Väinämöinen.

Finnish, Joulupukki.

Maiden of Finland: May I intrroduce you a typical Finnish man: Uuno Turhapuro.
The choir: Uuno Turhapuro.
(The map of Finlad is projected again.)
Maiden of Finland: Now you know some words in Finnish, but I would like to teach
you some longer sentences and sayings.
The choir: Minä, sinä, hän, me, te, he, tämä, tuo, se, nämä, nuo, he, kuka, mikä,
kumpi, ken, joku, joka, jokainen.
Maiden of Finland: Pohjanmaan kautta!
The choir: Hölökyn kölökyn!
Maiden of Finland: Mustan kissan paksut posket...
The choir: Mustan kissan paksut posket...
Maiden of Finland: Mustan kissat paksut posket...!
The choir: Mustan kissan paksut posket!
Maiden of Finland: Mustan kissat paksut posket...!
The choir: Mustan kissan paksut posket!
Maiden of Finland: Hissun kissun
Maiden of Finland & the choir: vaapula vissun,

Maiden of Finland & the choir: viipula vaapula vot,
Maiden of Finland: eskonsaaun piiunpaun,
Maiden of Finland & the choir: Nyt mä lähden tästä pelistä pois, Puh, pah, pelistä
pois!
(Maiden of Finland stops to one choir member who will now have to jump rope jump.
Two choir members start to rotate the invisible rope.)
Maiden of Finland & the choir: Nallekarhu, nallekarhu, mene sisälle, nosta tassusi,
pyöri ympäri, niiaa, kumarra, koske tassu maahan, potkaise, nyrkkeile, syö
hunajaa, siitä voimaa saa, nallekarhu, nallekarhu, mene pois!
Maiden of Finland: Thank you, my friends. Did that sound difficult? It
actually isn't, and when you learn yourself some Finnish, you can also start
singing in Finnish, because we have great songs in Finnish language. Many
people actually think, that in Finland we all just listen to heavy-metall. But they
are wrong. This is an example of our folk music, but we will play it now in a
modern way.
(Then we play our song Katselin poikia Kurikasta.)
THEME 12 KATSELIN POIKIA KURIKASTA
Arranged by Anja Halmen
KATSELIN POIKIA KURIKASTA – Finnish folk songs
GAZING AT THE BOYS FROM KURIKKA
(translation)
I was gazing at the stars in the sky and I felt longing,
because they were always together like couples
and I was just alone.
I am so all alone like a juniper among other trees.
I haven't got anything new or anything old,
I haven't got anything strange.
---
Two guys from Kurikka are moving so smoothly.
Red were the springs of the carriage
and the caps of their pipes were made of silver.
If I could hug a sweet girl on my journey,
it would be so much nicer to return home.
Music is my pleasure and singing is my work.
The arm of a pretty boy is my scarf.
The horse is black like a tiger cat.
shafts are made of juniper.
My mother says don´t marry from a house,
marry from a humble hut.
---
As the sky is blue and white and full of stars,
so is my young heart full of thoughts.
