About MEF MEF University is a non-profit private

university founded by the İbrahim Arıkan Education and Scientific Research Foundation. MEF University, which will admit its first students in the academic year 2014-2015, aims to become a university that keeps entrepreneurship, innovative thinking and creativity in the foreground and has the ability to create global and local value-added with its distinct educational model. MEF University is the first university in the world that has adapted the “Flipped Classroom” educational model university-wide.

Being A MEF Student

As a student who started her education in here this year, I want to share my opinions and experiences about this school.

After a tiring exam year I passed through, my purpose was deciding which school would be great for me as a student in many ways. So, I've searched a lot about MEF University, I made a few visits. After doing these things, I realized that MEF University was the only school which I will be comfortable with.

There were many comforting things for me; our teachers are really good as teachers and they are also friendly to us. In my belief, a big part of being successful is good communication skills. The other thing I am happy with in here is our ambiance. We have many opportunities as a MEF student; we have a very good library which enables to study there in peace, we have a wide database for e-books, our clubs are beneficial and efficient, we have two cafes and a dining hall We are next to "Volkswagen Arena" and "Uniq", this a good advantage and we have discount for services like ice-skating, food etc. The design of our school is impressive and I feel good when I'm in there. It's an important thing to have a quality education area. We have a system that enables a cycle between home and school,"Flipped-Learning".

I am glad to have education in this vision holder and promising school.

Our Library

MEF University has a rich library. It has thousands of books and e-books.Also it has many databases and students can access to thousands of e-books and articles. Our library is comfortable and has good ambiance. It has living spaces for 230 people and it has three rooms for team work.Students can reserve them before using and they can study during2 hours. Our library is available from 08.15am to 20.00pm. Students can study between these hours. We love MEF!

My Views About MEF

I want to talk about the MEF University smart board. We are very lucky because we understand lessons better. We see more pictures on smart board. We're doing a lot of things in lesson and a lot of exercises. This is a good advantage for us. I have a complaint about the shuttle of our school. I think shuttles are inadequate for students. Especially we are getting cold in winter when we are waiting for a shuttle. Shuttle doesn’t come on time. Shuttle numbers should be increased and I think calm drivers should be selected. I want to talk about snow holidays in MEF University. Muhammed Şahin decided to make holiday for last Thursday. I think this is the right decision. Istanbul's traffic is paralyzed when it snows. Some students come from far areas to school. So some students can be injured. I have complaints about the school lunchroom. We are students, so prices should be reduced. Food must be cheap but MEF University’s food price is the most expensive price I have ever seen. Food is very nice but expensive. Rector of Mef University should fix this situation. State University price is 1.5 Turkish liras but our university price is 8.90 liras.
