What a great way to start the new year by having a Roundtable speaker who can help us all improve our lives. How fortunate we are to have Jill Borsos, a motivational speaker, who helps people transform their lives so they can live them to their full potential. Believe it or not, but there really are things that hold us back from feeling better. Jill can help us transform those and allow us to live our lives to the fullest and

have more energy as well. She can also help unleash traumas and emotions that have kept us from moving our lives forward. So make sure you come to this important Roundtable that could change your life for the better and make you feel so much more alive and willing to do more as well. Questions? PreSiDeNT’S CorNer

This is such an exciting time when we think about our goals and ambitions for the new year and resolve to

adopt new positive, healthy habits. Whether your goal is to cross an item off your bucket list, learn a new skill, research a topic that interests you, spend more time with family and friends, or make new friends, the new year inspires us to make these things happen.

remember your Vagabond ski & social Club and all that it has to offer as you make your plans for the upcoming year. There truly is something for everyone! Whether you are in the mood to enjoy active sports such as skiing, tennis, bowling, hiking (plus much more), or if some less strenuous activities strike your fancy, such as plays, concerts, playing Sheepshead, dominos or scrabble, fish fries; and let’s not forget about

extraordinary travel offerings! There are opportunities galore in the Vagabond Ski & Social Club!

And what is the most amazing thing about the Vagabonds? It is the wonderful, fun, kind and helpful people who belong to our Club! Those of you who have been members for a while have already met and no doubt become friends with many of these warm and caring people. If you are a newer member, I hope you will embrace the Club and participate in activities and events so that you, too, will meet and become friends with other members who are as fun loving, kind and caring as you.

May you have a very Happy New Year and a wonderful 2019!

skiing safety Tips*Wear a helmet: The most important safety tip is to wear a certified helmet. Both the National Ski Patrol (NSP) and the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) encourage wearing a helmet. use proper ski equipment: Don’t borrow equipment. Rent from a ski shop. Make sure your ski boots are fitted properly and that your bindings are properly adjusted. Wear ski goggles that fit correctly around your helmet.

Take a break: If you are tired, rest for a while and make sure you eat and drink enough. Skiing burns a lot of energy.ski with a friend: It is always safer to ski with someone.respect your limits: Do not ski trails that are above your skill level. Stay in control and focus on the trail that you are skiing. Accidents happen when distracted. Follow the rules: Obey posted trail closure and other warning signs. Remember that skiers in front of you and

below you have the right-of-way.Prepare for the weather: Wear layers of clothes and wear a helmet liner, a hat or a headband. Wear mittens or gloves. Bring an extra pair if the first pair gets wet. Get proper instruction: Even experienced skiers can polish up their skills with a lesson now or then.
