This budget amendment is necessary to rollover the balances from FY 18/19 into the current FY 19/20 for variousSpecial Benefit Fire District Funds and the Fire Assessment Fund Projects.

RECOMMENDED ACTION

Move to approve budget amendment 19-20-003 and associated resolution.

FISCAL IMPACT

The fiscal impact is an increase to the Special Benefit Fire District Funds and the Fire Assessment Fund in the amount of$2,581,178.47.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF HIGHLANDS COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO THE HIGHLANDS LAKES SPECIAL TAX DISTRICT, FIRE ASSESSMENT, HIGHLANDS PARK SBFD, LAKE PLACID SBFD, SUNN' LAKE ESTATES & ACREAGE OF LAKE PLACID SBD, PLACID LAKES SBFD, WEST SEBRING SBFD, VENUS SBFD, LORIDA SBFD, AND LEISURE LAKES SBFD FUNDS.

WHEREAS , Section 129.06, Florida Statutes (Execution and Amendment of Budget) provides that the Board of County Commissioners may by resolution or by motion in the minutes execute and amend the budget; and

WHEREAS, the fo llowing budget amendment is necessary and proper within the Highlands Lakes Special Tax District, Fire Assessment, Highlands Park SBFD, Lake Placid SBFD, Sun N' Lake Estates & Acreage of Lake Plac id SBD, Placid Lakes SBFD, West Sebring SBFD, Venus SBFD, Lorida SBFD, and Leisure Lakes SBFD Funds; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to rollover project balances fro m FY 18/19 into the current FY 19/20 totaling $2,581 , 178.47 to properly budget the available funds to maintain the authorized balances.

A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN AND FOR HIGHLANDS COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO THE LEISURE LAKES SPECIAL TAX FIRE DISTRICT FUND.

WHEREAS, Section 129.06, Florida Statues (Execution and Amendment of Budget) provided that the Board of County Commissioners may by resolution or by motion in the minutes execute and amend the budget; and

WHEREAS, the following budget amendment is necessary and proper within the Leisure Lakes Special Tax Fire District Fund; and

WHEREAS, it is in the interest of the Leisure Lakes Special Tax Fire District to re-appropriate funds in order to allocate the entire current Fund Balance that is available in the Special Tax Fire District into Project 18064 to be used for the purchase equipment for the Leisure Lakes area.; and

WHEREAS, the budget must be amended to appropriate these funds for this purpose.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners in and for Highlands County, Florida, this _ day of that budget amendment 18-19-149 is hereby approved and authorized.
