In God’s word, we find the following

recorded in Psalm 118:10-18:

10 All the nations surrounded me,

but in the name of the LORD I cut them off .11 They surrounded me on every side, but in

the name of the LORD I cut them off.

12 They swarmed around me like bees,but they died out as quickly as burning

thorns; in the name of the LORD I cut them

off.

13 I was pushed back and about to fall,

but the LORD helped me.

14 The LORD is my strength and my song;

 He has become my salvation.

15 Shouts of joy and victory resound in the

tents of the righteous: "The LORD's right

hand has done mighty things!

16 “The LORD's right hand is lifted high;

the LORD's right hand has done mighty

things!"

17 I will not die but live, and will proclaim

what the LORD has done.

18 The LORD has chastened me severely,

but He has not given me over to death.

Verse 14 says,“The LORD is my strength and my song;

 He has become my salvation.”

This also is found in Exodus 15:2 andIsaiah 12:2. The Israelites sang these

words when they were delivered from

Egypt, as they saw their enemy drownedin the sea.

And Isaiah 12 promises that Israel will singthis song in the future when God restores her

and establishes His kingdom, which He did

on the Day of Pentecost. We, too, can rejoicefor what these words mean for us today, for

we who are Christians are part of that

kingdom.

God is our strength. That takes care of the demands of life. Where do you look

to find strength? Your experience? Your

health? Your money? Your job? Allthese things could vanish. Only the

strength of the Lord can meet the

demands of life. "Those who wait on the

 Lord shall renew their strength." (Isaiah40:31)

That is why Jesus said in Matthew

6:33, “But seek first His kingdom and

 His righteousness, and all these things

 shall be yours as well.” We must put

away our worries and anxiety, and

learn to trust in the Lord for His

strength and His protection in all thatwe do.

The Lord is our song. That takes care of

the dullness of life. Many people haveto go through boring, tedious

experiences. Perhaps your job is not as

exciting as you'd like it to be. Perhapsyou are a getting older, and you can't get

out and do and see what others have the

 privilege of doing and seeing.Regardless of what you are facing, the

Lord will  give you joy!

That is why Paul was able to write whilechained between Roman soldiers and

awaiting death, “Even if I am to be poured

as a libation upon the sacrificial offering of

 your faith, I am glad and rejoice with you

all. Likewise you also should be glad and

rejoice with me.” (Philippians 2:17-18)

The Lord is our salvation. That takes care of

the dangers of life. And just as Paul, we whoare Christians have nothing to fear, not even

death. The Lord delivers us and is always at

our side.

“The LORD's right hand is lifted high;

the LORD's right hand has done mighty

things!"  (verse 16) That right hand isavailable to us today, and just for the

asking!

Believers may sing this song of praise, for

God takes care of the demands, the

dullness and the dangers of life. He is your strength, your song and your salvation.

Remember that God is ever available to

deliver you from the difficult experiences

of life.
