FOR THE 2020-2021 YEAR
If you are serious about being an Officer of Post
789 be at the April 14th meeting for elections MEETING TBD.
Installation
of Officers will be on the 9th of May TBD. Cocktails are from
5-6 and the
dinner is a 6PM with Installation and awards to follow and the
CUT OFF to
sign up is 3 May and the menu is TBD the cost is $12.00 a person
as it stands
right now and it is limited to 120 people so get you tickets
early and the
awards will be handed out after the election of officers. If you
are not going to
come to the Installation dinner and still want your continuous
service award
let the Adjutant Billy Mastin know and he will leave it at the
bar or mail it to
you.

The Auxiliary meeting that was
scheduled for April 1st will be cancelled.
If you or someone you know would like to hold an Officer
position for 2020-2021 please contact President Brandi.
Elected Positions are; President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice
Presi-
dent, Treasurer and Executive Committee. You can also
volunteer
to chair a committee! Contact President Brandi and she will let
you
know the different opportunities available to you!
At this point actually elections will take place at the May
meeting or I am looking into other means to be able to hold them
via
text message or email. I will keep you posted.

At our March membership meeting we voted to raise the dues

Comrades,
I hope this writing finds everyone well. As many of you
already
know, our membership numbers are low. With this, our volunteers
base
becomes low, thus financial support for the post becomes low.
I’m sure you
get the picture. We have implemented several changes (all in the
best
interest of the Post). In hopes of reversing the situation. The
support for
our Post should come from you, the member first, not the public.
With
assistance from our Auxiliary and Sons, I am confident we will
overcome
our demise and move forward. For those who continue to support,
I thank
you. For those who may not have been active with the post
lately, I
welcome you with open arms to help us make the Post a great
place again.

100TH ANNIVERSARY OF CARTHAGE, NY AMERICAN LEGION POST 789

Anyone interested in being on the 100th anniversary committee
please sign the sheet in the bar area,
put your name and phone number on it so we can reach you when we
decide to have a meeting to get started getting things organized.
Also anyone who has pictures of things of interest that have
happened over the past 100 yrs please bring in copies of them and
if you can’t get a copy made we will make them here for you and
return your original pictures so please include your name, phone
