African Development Bank Group Private Sector Operations Meet with AfDB Private Sector Mining Team Mr. Godfrey Mwindaare : Mr. Godfrey Mwindaare, a Ghanaian national, is a Chief Investment Officer in the Private Sector Department of the African Development Bank, where he heads up the mining finance team. Before joining the Bank, Godfrey worked as an investment banker with Barclays Capital in London in the mining team, Senior Strategist and Head of Consumer/Business Banking with Standard Bank in South Africa and Tanzania respectively and most recently as Regional Investment Director for AfricaPlus (Private Equity Fund) covering the Southern Africa Region and based in Johannesburg. Godfrey has a BSc in Mining Engineering from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology in Ghana. He also holds a BSc in Financial Services from the University of Manchester, as well as an MBA in Finance from the University of Hull, all in the UK. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (UK). He is currently a Chief Investment Officer and Private Sector Specialist in the Bank’s South Africa Regional Office. Hussein is responsible for growing the Banks private sector business and portfolio management in South Africa Regional Field Office which handles six countries (Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe). As Chief Investment Officer in Industries and Services Division, Private sector Department, he has been involved in developing the Bank’s mining & oil and gas portfolio in the past 6 years. Mr Hussein received a Bsc degree in Finance from the University of Wyoming and an MBA in Finance from University of Denver, Colorado.
