• Research– Four books published and one in progress.– Twelve peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, and several others in progress.– A major theme in my research is the manipulation of images and institutions from

the ancient Greek and Roman world in modern societies. This extends to contemporary film, literature, notions of gender and sport, and autocratic regimes in the 20th and 21st centuries.

• Teaching– All periods of European History, from Classical Greece through Renaissance /

Reformation to Fascist Italy and Nazi Germany.

• Long-Term Goals– Enhancing my own and the overall reputation of USFSM on an international

stage, as most of my presentations and contacts are with scholars throughoutNorth America, Western Europe, and beyond.
