Reflexology Therapist & Reiki Practitioner

Biography

I have used reflexology myself for years to help cope with stress and to maintain my own immune system. Going on to train as a

Reflexologist was a natural progression for me, so I could give the same level of care with loving intent as I have received over the

years. I also have a great interest in nutrition, exercise and positive affirmations as supports in maintaining a healthy mind and

body, and I try to work these in to my treatment sessions. For me, the consultation and home-advice parts of the treatment are

critical.

Being truly present and actively listening to concerns and worries is just as important as understanding presenting physical

ailments. I feel privileged to be trusted to listen, and to channel as much healing and positive energy and love as I can in a

treatment session.

Reiki Practitioner

Biography

I have worked in the pharmaceutical industry, as a clinical scientist in a hospital and more recently as a special needs assistant at

both primary and secondary level to gain life skills on my journey. Since qualifying in May 2011 my intention is to ‘release issues

in the tissues’ to promote health and wellbeing through a number of holistic complementary therapies, tailoring each treatment to

suit the client. I enjoy being a member of the Rowan Tree Clinic team; working with such experienced therapists, interacting with

such wonderful clients and baking a traybake for everyone to share.

I also volunteer at the St. James Camino Network one afternoon every week to give their residents a chance to experience the

benefits of complementary therapies.

Lifeskills Consultant

Biography

Following a career in Further Education and Training mainly with 16+ year olds in the UK and 14 years as College Principal –

Helen was introduced to Reiki Relaxation/Healing therapy courses in 2002 to help/heal self, family and friends. The benefits soon

became apparent from the feedback: better quality sleep, stress relief, relaxation, increased energy levels, short/long term pain relief

plus many other benefits. Helen was grateful for the opportunity to offer Reiki relaxation therapy, at the Marie Curie Hospice

(supported by the Bradford Cancer Support Group) in the UK, to the day patients and some of the terminally ill inpatients. It was

a privilege to work closely with the Manager and Medical staff in helping patients to experience day-to-day comforts and positive

outcomes.

The qualification as a Spiritual/Natural healer with the Association of Professional Healers (APH) led to being accepted as an

Accredited Therapist on the National Health Service Directory of Complementary Practitioners (NHSTA. UK) under their

headings for Reiki therapy and Spiritual healing. Since returning to live in Ireland Helen continues to study the body-mind-spirit

aspects of our nature and to date has achieved the following: DipITEC in Anatomy and Physiology, Cert VTCT for Indian Head

Biography

I am a registered nurse and trained midwife with over 10 years’ experience within NHS hospitals in England, caring for a wide

variety of patients and co-ordinating various oncology clinics. I have an ITEC diploma in reflexology, am a full member of the

Irish Reflexologists’ Institute and have qualifications in Indian Head Massage and Reiki (Level 1). I continue to augment my

knowledge, most recently attending workshops on cancer and reflexology and the use of reflexology in ante natal care.

I am convinced that the holistic approach of the treatments I offer plays an important role in rebalancing and harmonising clients’

Counsellor

Biography

Originally from Dublin, now living in Mullingar, Barry trained and worked as an engineer before realising some years later, that a

career in counselling was what he really wanted. He returned to college as a mature student and is now a qualified

Psychotherapist. When talking about why he loves working as a therapist, Barry says “Psychotherapy, to me, is about helping a

person realise who they really are. There is tremendous satisfaction in watching that process unfold. I often feel very privileged

that I am allowed to witness a person’s growth, as they discover that they are not the person that they were told they are, and

that they are not the person they felt they had to be, but they are instead discovering who they really are for themselves, often for

the first time in their lives.”

Eileen Browne, R.G.N,

BSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy

Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Biography

Eileen was born and educated in Westport, Co. Mayo and trained as a nurse in General, Paediatrics and Midwifery and studied

Counselling and Psychotherapy in P.C.I. college. Now retired from nursing Eileen practices as a Counsellor/Psychotherapist in

private practice and has joined the Rowan Tree Clinic in this capacity in recent months. A career in the nursing profession

appealed to her and a particular interest in children and their welfare brought her to study Paediatrics initially and subsequently

to work in this field.

Her own experience of counselling in her early forties had significant benefit in her own life and created a desire to facilitate

others in this regard. Her approach to counselling is to listen, support and perhaps help the client with insight, to either change

what is possible to change, or to live more creatively with that which is not.

Specialising in: As a member of The Person Centered Approach Eileen is enthused and often surprised afresh at the wonder of

what a person can experience when their own soul is mirrored in this way.
