Chris is a landscape and seascape photographer specialising in images of what he believes to be one of the most beautiful areas in Britain, the North East of England.
To Chris, the two key ingredients of photography are light and time. Light can transform the mundane into the exotic and is the trickiest part of photography, as it is down to nature you have no control over it, patience is the only tool that can be used. Time on the other hand is a variable controlled by the photographer. An exposure can be anything from a fraction of a second to several minutes. Freeze framing a scene, to Chris, seems unnatural because he sees the world as constantly changing, nature isn’t still so why should a photograph. In his work, he strives to find the most perfect light and a timing that enhances the scene.

Sea Drift Design look at articles that they can recycle into something new, original and beautiful, i.e.re-imagine.
They use only good quality materials to make good quality, high end products, thereby giving the original article
a second chance. Artist and designer Michael Limon works with friend Sylvia Soulsby who is a very good sewer/
knitter, and with his designs and her skills, working together they have produced some beautiful, original and
unique articles. e.g Jewellery, bags, slippers, headbands etc.
Due to demand, at present the main articles they manufacture are bags of various styles.
Whilst they are not trying to follow fashion, working with established classic imagery, i.e. Harris Tweed jackets,
tartan travel rugs, brocade curtains, etc, plays to people's sense of nostalgia and reminiscence which bring their
designs to the fore. All of their products are hand made from recycled or pre-used materials, e.g. garments,
blankets, shells, driftwood etc. Every article is unique and individual, and like each of us has its own story.

Each piece of Diane Stewardson Seaglass Jewellery is handmade using seaglass that has been collected from the
beaches of the North East coast of England by Diane and her family and friends.
Once collected Diane simply washes the sand from the glass and uses each piece as it has been found, so none
of the pieces are tumbled, polished or cut into shape. This means that every piece she designs is unique.
Diane is a self taught jewellery designer and is constantly trying out new designs and techniques to add to her

Original one-of-a-kind and bespoke handcrafted designs created in shadow box frames.
Tracy is inspired by the world around her, especially Mother Nature. She particularly like butterflies, dragonflies, owls and seaside scenes and loves to design each individual element and build it up to create a three-dimensional piece of art using colour and textured card stock to add further dimension. Every individual piece is truly one-of-a-kind and has been designed, cut, pieced together and built up to create each piece of artwork."

Uniqueco Designs create eco fabric planters using hand crafted Angelina patches, sisal, plant dyed Northumbrian
wool & other natural and iridescent fibres. These are made ready planted or DIY enabling buyers to choose their
own plant or cactus. Uniqueco Designs also create stained glass art including mirrors and sun-catchers. But
latterly Uniqueco Designs have used both these skills together to create pictures, ‘wishsticks’, hearts, angels,
coasters etc using similar materials as in the planters which are then encased in soldered glass

Westergaard Designs comprises a unique collection of Home and Giftware lovingly created by young designer Polly
Westergaard. The designs are heavily influenced by Polly’s cultural heritage, from both her Danish ancestry and her
British roots. This fusion of cultural perspectives combined with Polly’s interest in the people and nature around
her combine to create contemporary products which aim to raise a smile.
Polly’s “Why Aye” range developed after Polly settled in Newcastle and developed a love for the passion and
proud nature of Geordies and people from the North East. Polly wanted to celebrate this pride by developing a
range of home and gift ware depicting Geordie sayings via pictograms. These have proved incredibly popular with
Geordies, and ex Geordies all over the world.
Polly’s Animalask range and Oh Deer range capture the imaginations of Children and adults alike, drawing
influence from historical traditions, whilst updating these for modern day living. Polly takes these ideas and
develops contemporary (more animal friendly products) creating a unique collection with a witty edge.

Suzanne Homer is a Swiss born, British artist based in Wallsend. The inspiration for her work stems from the architecture she observed, living in different countries, growing up. Suzanne combines her early passion for drawing & her later learned digital skills, to produce illustrated, architectural inspired collages. In addition, her design-led training & keen eye for following trends, is what helps her produce the quirky colour schemes in her work. Her aim is to create a story of rural & urban environments & to give a different perspective of everyday scenes. In 2007, Suzanne brought art & design together and launched Zanna Designs.
Newcastle & the North East coastline are the main collections, so if you do not see what you want in the range availa-ble, products can be designed specially. Limited edition prints, cards, mugs & coasters are all available to outlets and new products for the giftware and interior sectors will be introduced in 2015. Zanna Designs prides itself in a strong attention to detail in its products & packaging. Being ethical and kind to the environment is also important to Zanna Designs so, recycled materials, local & UK suppliers are used wherever possible.
