Meet the Explorer Archetype
Core of the Explorer Story: Willing—and even wanting to be different, the Explorer story is driven by curiosity of what else is possible and the courage to try new things and to find uniqueness Gifts: Autonomy, curiosity, exploring identity, expanded possibilities, forward thinking Shadow Side: Inability to commit, chronic disappointment, alienation and loneliness The Explorer’s Assumption: The grass is always greener somewhere else.
The Call: dissatisfaction, restlessness, yearning, boredom Level One: hitting the open road, going out into nature, exploring the world Level Two: seeking meaning by exploring new options and embracing change Level Three: to experience fulfillment through the exercise of curiosity in the direction of finding individuality and uniqueness
Latent, without the Explorer: • You may feel trapped by expectations
• See obstacles instead of opportunities
• Lack of initiative
• Explorer in others looks like lack of commitment or wanderlust
