On December 24th 2015 the hospital’s electric steam boiler was subject to an electrical arc flash explosion.  This explosion caused significant damage to the boiler.  So much so that the Electric Boiler had to be shut down, and the backup Oil Boiler turned on.  It will be several weeks until the boiler can be brought back online.

Conservation measures are working!! KEEP

DOIN’ WHAT YOU’RE DOIN’!

Maintenance is asking all employees in the hospital building (only) to help reduce the cost of running the Fuel Boiler in the following ways:

• Thermostats should be set at or below 68 degrees• All windows need to be kept closed.  Including the outer windows.• Hot water should only be run for the time needed.  Do not leave hot

water running unattended. Maintenance will be monitoring thermostats for compliance.THANK YOU!

The PPE (personal protective equipment) training will take place in 2 hour sessions on Wednesday, February 10th and Thursday, February 11th (including evening sessions on Wednesday). It is mandatory for anyone who requires fit testing but would like to get as many people trained as possible. The time to think about disaster preparedness is now. Please contact Mary Haugen.  Flu shot reminder: Mary needs to know if employees have or have not received flu shots for the new Medicare requirements. Please keep track of your department. Thank you!
