MEDPOR Spheres provide surgeons with porous, biocompatible materials for orbital reconstructionfollowing enucleation and evisceration procedures. MEDPOR Smooth Surface Tunnel Spheres (SST-EZ)

Smooth Surface Tunnel (SST-EZ) Spheres have a smooth, porous anterior surface and suture tunnels toallow easy rectus muscle attachment without the use of an implant wrap. The redesigned suture holes and curvedtunnels of the new MEDPOR SST-EZ may allow for easier insertion of ophthalmic needles typically used to attachthe extra-ocular muscles to the implant. Both suture arms from one muscle are passed through each tunnel.Each muscle end can be drawn to within 3mm of the implant anterior apex or allowed to hang back at thedesired attachment location.

Multi-Purpose Conical Orbital Implants (MCOI)

MCOI Implants are conical shaped, with a flat, 6mm diameter anterior surface to provide a slightedge for ease of muscle attachment. Three sizes are available: 16mm, 18mm and 20mm diameter.

The conical shape may provide additional volume posteriorly so that each implant has the approximatevolume of a 2mm larger diameter spherical implant.

Conformers are small, acrylic-cup shaped devices whose inner surfaces areshaped to approximate the curvature of the orbit. Natural Iris Conformers

Natural Iris Conformers are temporary devices used after the enucleation of the eye to maintain theshape of the socket and prevent closure or adhesions during the healing process. This product is for temporary use following enucleation and then should be replaced by a custom impression-fittedocular prosthesis fabricated by a trained ocularist.

The Natural-Iris Conformer is slightly larger than the standard-clear conformers, but not quite asthick as a custom prosthesis. Available in six colors and three sizes: small, medium and large.

Strength Meets Flexibility

MEDPOR TITAN Sheets are intended for non-weight bearing applications of craniofacial reconstructive/cosmetic surgery and repair of craniofacial trauma.

Titanium mesh and MEDPOR Polyethylene Implants have a long history of successful use in traumarepair. When cut, traditional titanium mesh may exhibit many sharp points and edges that can makeinsertion difficult. Titanium mesh embedded within a thin sheet of high-density polyethylene may minimizesharp edges even when the implant is cut.1 The titanium mesh is radiopaque, making the implant vis-ible on radiographs or CT scans. The titanium mesh used in MEDPOR Biomaterial may allow thesurgeon to bend and contour a thin implant material to the desired shape while providing the strengthusually associated with a much thicker traditional MEDPOR Implant.2

Surgeons may choose from three types of MEDPOR TITAN Sheets:• The MEDPOR TITAN MEDPOR (MTM) Implant is porous, high-density polyethylene with

titanium mesh embedded in it, potentially providing the advantages of fibrovascular integration of the patient’s host tissue through the sheet.2

• The MEDPOR TITAN BARRIER (MTB) Implant is a sheet of titanium mesh embedded within a porouspolyethylene matrix with a solid, BARRIER surface on one side, potentially allowing for fibrovascular ingrowth only on the porous side of the implant.

• The MEDPOR TITAN Double BARRIER (BTB) Implant is titanium mesh embedded within solid, high-density polyethylene that acts as a BARRIER to tissue attachment and may help facilitate implant placement.

MEDPOR TITAN MAX Orbital Floor and Wall

The wider titanium mesh and extensions on the MEDPOR TITAN MAX Orbital Floor and Wall (OFW) Implant provides the surgeon with an alternative to other repair materials for large orbital floor fractures and/or combined fractures of the orbital floor and medial wall.

The MEDPOR TITAN MAX OFW offers the same features as the MEDPOR TITAN OFW but with the added benefit of wider titanium mesh and plate extensions. Anterior and medial titaniumplates extending from the MEDPOR TITAN framework are designed to allow screw fixation inside or outside the orbit by bending over the orbital rim and/or nasal bone. Screw holes accept Universal Upper-Face 1.2 screws.

The titanium mesh embedded in the MEDPOR TITAN Implants is radiopaque, making the implant visible on radiographs or CT scans for post operative evaluation, allowing surgeons to assess the accuracy of implant placement.

The porous side of the implant is designed to provide ascaffold for soft tissue ingrowth in the same manner as a regular MEDPOR Implant. BARRIERSheets are available in two sizes with either a trumpet shaped or a rectangular barrier. Miniplate,Microplate, and Microplate Single Channel Sheets are also available with a barrier surface.

MEDPOR Biomaterial Sheets provide the surgeon with options for craniofacial reconstruction andaugmentation. The individually packaged, sterile implants provide “off-the-shelf” availability, andmay save time and the expense of harvesting graft material. MEDPOR Channel Implants

Channel Implants are designed for repair of significant orbital floor and wall trauma where the addition of one or more rigid fixation plates offers structural support. After the MEDPOR Implant is cut to the desired shape, a rigid fixation plate is inserted in the channel. The plate may extend out both ends of theimplant if desired. The plate allows the surgeon to bend and contour the implant to the desired shape.Once the implant shape and proper position is determined, the end of the plate is fixed to the orbital rim.

The Microplate and Miniplate Channel Implants are 2.3mm thick and have multiple parallel channels. TheMiniplate and Microplate Channel Implant accepts 1.2mm wide plates and is used when the implant iscantilevered from the orbital rim.

Channel Implants are available with or without a BARRIER surface.

MEDPOR Complete & 2/3 Orbit Shapes

Complete and Inferior 2/3 Orbit Implants are designed to replace non-load bearing, bony structuresof the orbital area. Complete and 2/3 Orbits are typically carved with a blade or scissors to fit the patient’s defect and fixed with sutures, wires or craniofacial screws and plates.

Orbito-Zygomatic (OZ)

The MEDPOR Orbito-Zygomatic (OZ) Implant is designed for reconstruction of the superior andlateral surfaces of the orbital roof. The MEDPOR OZ Implant provides surgeons with a convenient“off-the-shelf” anatomically shaped implant to cover the bony orbital roof and lateral wall removedduring cranial procedures. Inferior Orbital Rim

The MEDPOR Inferior Orbital Rim Implant can provide up to 5mm of anterior projection and isdesigned to be trimmed to meet the needs of the individual patient. A small flange allows it to reston the most anterior aspect of the orbital floor. This flange allows for positioning of the implantand a possible area for screw fixation to the skeleton.

Extended Orbital Rim Implants

MEDPOR Extended Orbital Rim Implants provide the surgeon with an option for augmenting the inferior rim. These shapes can restore orbital rim anatomy in trauma or other cases requiring orbital rim augmentation.

The entire rim shape may be used or a portion of the rim may be cut with a scalpel to provide the necessaryaugmentation. Meticulous detail in feathering the implant to the surrounding bone may improve the aesthetic result. Two-point screw fixation may be used to achieve initial stable reconstruction.

Midface Rim

The MEDPOR Midface Rim is designed to augment areas of bony concavities of the midface, including the inferior orbital rim and malar. The medial area of the implant may be carved as necessary or utilized in its entirety.

Midface Contour Implant
