PRIORAT

Between the plain of Tarragona and the lands around the Ebro, hidden behind the coastal mountains of southern Catalonia and only 40 km. from the beach, you will discover Priorat. It is a land with a wealth of character where the beautiful villages and landscape unite to captivate the visitor - a place of contrasts soaked in calmness, with a countryside that hides its charms amongst vineyards, olives trees, stone terraces and mountains.

The name Priorat has always been associated with wine. And the two local wine DOs (denomination guaranteeing the origin), DOQ Priorat and DO Montsant, tell us fundamental things about the history and character of the area.

CLOS BARENYSThis tour allows you to follow the grape from the vineyard to the glass. You’ll be given a full explanation of the wine production process (white and red wine) as you’re taken on a tour through the cellar and barrel room.

To finish you’ll sample two wines from the vineyard. There is also the option to enjoy lunch or dinner at Clos Barenys.

WINERIE LA BOELLALa Boella Celler Botiga where wine is made from the grapes grown on the estate’s 6.5 hectares of vineyards. In its wine cellar-shop you can purchase the olive oils and wines produced on the estate and choose from a selection of more than 500 wines from the world’s most prestigious wine-producing areas.

You will also find exclusive gourmet products from the elite of world gastronomy. Wine and olive oil amateurs can take a guided tour of the estate or participate in a wide variety of activities, presentations, wine and olive oil tastings, and wine, cava and spirit tasting courses, as well as wine and food matching workshops.

Buil & Gine

Buil & Gine are pioneers of wine tourism within the region of Priorat. Open 362 days a year, the vineyard boasts a 4-star hotel as well as “Friends”, their first class restaurant. The Cistercian Route is a particular territory which consists of the counties of Alt Camp, Conca de Barberà and Urgell and its 65 municipalities. The name comes from the artistic and cultural heritage of the counties, each of which has a Cistercian monastery. Whilst the route links the three impressive Cistercian monasteries (Santes Creus, Poblet and Vallbona de les Monges), the landscape along with other historical and cultural elements, adds to the richness of the area.

The territory of The Cistercian Route consists of five Appellations of Origin (DO Tarragona, DO Costers del Segre, DO Catalunya, DO Conca de Barbera and DO Cava) that produce wines and Cava of Catalonia. In most of these wineries, visitors can enjoy tastings and tours.
