Medicine Experience Days - Year 10 - 13
Students
During the school holidays we are running our annual medicine
days where students in years 10-13 can come and learn all about the the
application process to study medicine as well as practical days
consisting of anatomy training and clinical skills practice with doctors in
NHS hospitals in London.
Over the years we've had over 3,000 students attend these summer
courses with great success in helping them choose medicine as a future
career and giving them the skills they need in order to apply successfully.
Our 1 day courses run during August and we also have longer, 1 and 2
week courses running all summer long too.

Birmingham University
Wednesday 10th July Engineering Taster Day.
It’s aimed at year 12s who have maths A- Level and aren’t sure which degree to pursue.
During the day there will be workshops from many engineering disciplines as well as campus tours, Q&As with current engineering students and even the opportunity to look around our new Collaborative Teaching Labs. From this day your pupils will get a better understanding of the different disciplines that they can study in engineering or even confirm that it’s something they may or may not be interested in. Students may come on their own but they must still register by following this link. As part of the registration they also need to upload a permission form signed by themselves and their head of sixth (or equivalent). The day will run from 9:45 (registration from 9:15) to 15:30 and will be held across our Edgbaston campus. ___________________________________________________________________________
The University of Birmingham School of Mathematics would like to invite
year 12 pupils studying Maths A-Level to our Mathematics Taster Day. This is a free event on Wednesday 3rd July where students can learn more about what it’s like to study Maths at university. We achieve this by offering the opportunity to listen to academics talk about mathematics in their research, get involved in maths workshops and experience university life through campus tours and meeting current students. Registered individually by following this link. Alternatively pupils may attend on their own but must still register using the same link. As part of the registration they also need to upload a permission form signed by themselves and their head of sixth (or equivalent). Recruitment Process
If your application for a Degree Apprenticeship is shortlisted, you’ll be asked to complete a online Situational Strength Test to ascertain a cultural fit. If you’re successful there, the next stage will be a Digital Interview which is a combination of written and video recorded questions. Next, you’ll be invited to an assessment centre on-site, consisting of an interview, micro exercises and a group exercise. We will keep you updated at every stage of the process.

Job Specification
Accurate entry of purchase invoices to the accounts system
Reconcile supplier statements
Deal effectively with queries from suppliers and internal departments
Maintain an accurate and tidy purchase ledger
Produce sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner
Send out all sales invoices either by email or post
Collate staff expense forms accurately and in a timely manner, gain relevant
sign offs and maintain relevant spreadsheets
Maintain, administer and reconcile all petty cash accounts
Preparation of multi-currency petty cash reconciliations
Set-up and maintain supplier and customer accounts
Reconcile bank account on a weekly basis
Maintain a daily cash flow.
Preparation of Credit Control reports
Monitor clocking in system and update records as required to assist with
payroll.
General admin duties as required e.g. Provide reception cover, meet and
greet clients, answer telephone etc.
File all purchase and sales invoices and related paperwork
Qualifications required:
5 GCSEs grade A-C – 9-5 (or equivalent) Including Maths
You will be expected to attend college 1 day a week and work towards AAT

Medic Insight Day - Summer Special
Suitable for students aged 14+, the Medic Insight Day is a one-day course designed to
give ambitious pre-medical students a taste of life as a Doctor.
Our new and improved course teaches students about what it is like to be a Doctor
within an NHS hospital in a clear, insightful way. From taking a patient history, to
suturing an injury, students will adopt the role of a Doctor as they engage and
communicate with live-simulated patients.
All of our Medic Insight Days are completed in training centres within our partner NHS

Girls into Computer Science
One-day on-campus workshop for female year 12 students interested
in computer science
We wanted to let you know that we still have a limited number of spaces
available on our free to attend one-day workshop aimed at female Year 12
students interested in studying computer science. This event will take place at
the University of Bath on Friday 5 July (9.30am to 3pm).
Students will learn all about studying at university, careers in computer
science, and much more. The programme will include:
Opening and welcome with Dr Fabio Nemetz (Director of Studies)
and Dr Leon Watts (Admissions Tutor)
A range of workshops run by our teaching staff, researchers and
students
A campus tour led by our Student Ambassadors
Careers & prospects session with placement students and recent
graduates talking about their experiences of studying Computer
Science at Bath, our placement year, and employability.
Students will need to arrange and pay for their own transport to and from our
campus, and they will need to bring their own packed lunch.

Bath EPQ MOOC If your students will be completing the EPQ qualification then they may be
interested in our free 'How to Succeed in Your EPQ' online course.
This is a short course designed to help students prepare for
EPQ qualifications, and the latest course started yesterday (with the following
run starting 1 July).
Here at Bath we really value the EPQ, and our online course allows students
to look at reasons to do an EPQ, explore the research process and
assessment criteria, and get practical advice on time management and doing
your EPQ presentation.
They will also develop skills useful for transitioning to university level study
and get chance to swap discussion and ideas with other people also doing an
EPQ.

An opportunity for Year 12 students to attend a four day, fully funded Summer School at the University of Reading to learn about a career in property. Every day we are influenced by the built environment around us – shops, offices, industrial buildings, houses and the surrounding countryside all have an impact on the way we live. Did you ever wonder how these properties are developed, whether the buildings going up in our cities are sustainable or how much they are worth? The Pathways to Property Summer School allows students the chance to explore the property industry in more depth. With such a huge variety of roles, from a building surveyor or town planner to a sustainability consultant or financial analyst, there is a role to suit any skillset or personality.
