Black Hills State University Yellow Jacket Volleyball Camp Awards All individual campers and first place teams in each team camp bracket will receive a camp t-shirt. Camp Gear All campers are encouraged to wear or bring appropriate training gear. Overnight campers are expected to bring their own towels, linens, pillows, blankets or sleeping bag as well as bathroom articles and other clothes as desired. Extra spending money may be helpful also. Check-Ins All check-ins will take place in the main lobby of the Donald E. Young Center on the BHSU campus. Facilities BHSU Volleyball Camps take place at the Donald E. Young Sports and Fitness Center on campus. Included are three wooden volleyball courts in the gym and three volleyball sport courts in the field house. Insurance Each camper must be covered by their own accident and medical insurance. Meals & Housing Nutritious all-you-can-eat meals are planned and provided by BHSU Dining Services. Meal options include a Mongolian-style grill, salad bar, brick oven pizza, and more. Meals are included in the registration for high school individual camp only. Overnight campers will reside in BHSUs campus residence halls. High School Individual Camp Meals: July 13—Lunch and Dinner July 14—Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner July 15—Breakfast Refunds Black Hills State University allows no refunds due to personal injury, any conflicting camps or tournaments, vacations, etc. Deposits will not be refunded. Said undersigned parent and natural guardian or legal guardian does hereby represent that he/she is, in fact, acting in such capacity and agrees on behalf of the participant and his/her executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns, to: a. waive, release, and discharge from any and all liability for participants death, disability, personal injury, property damage, property theft or actions of any kind which may hereafter accrue to participant and his/her estate, the State of South Dakota, and its officers, agents and employees; and b. indemnify and hold harmless the State of South Dakota, and its officers, agents and employees from and against any and all liabilities and claims made by other individuals or entities as a result of participants participation or actions during this activity or event. The undersigned further consents to and authorizes medical treatment to the participant, which may be deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident or illness during this activity or event. This release and waiver shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the maximum extent permissible under applicable law. By signing, I allow camp photos of my child to be used on social media outlets by Black Hills State University. I, the undersigned, acknowledge that I have read and understand the above release. 2020 Volleyball Camp Information

Camp Staff Kristin Carmichael BHSU Head Coach Coach Carmichael is in her eleventh

season with the Yellow Jackets and

seventh year as head coach. Her

coaching stint comes after a very

successful volleyball career at BHSU.

Carmichael was a three-time NAIA All-

American for the Yellow Jackets and

can be found in the all-time record books 20 times. She

earned numerous all-conference and all-region honors. In

2008 she was DAC Player of the Year followed by Most

Valuable Senior in 2009. Carmichael helped lead the

Jackets to DAC Championships in 2008 and 2009 and to

two NAIA National Tournament appearances.

Carmichael finished her career with .404 season hitting

efficiency, setting a Dakota Athletic Conference record.

The Yellow Jackets qualified for the RMAC

conference playoffs for the second time in 2019, finishing

with the best conference record in the NCAA era.

Carmichael has coached fifteen All-Conference

performers, a Co-Defensive Player of the Year, and a

Freshman of the Year.

Kate Raevsky BHSU Assistant Coach Coach Raevsky is in her second year

with the Yellow Jackets. She comes to

BHSU from Middle Park High School,

in Colorado, where she was the head

volleyball coach for four years. She

helped lead the team to four

consecutive Frontier League

Championships, and was named the Frontier League

Coach of the Year three times. Raevsky has also coached

in the Middle Park Volleyball Club for five years and was

the Club Recruiting Coordinator for two years.

As a player, Raevsky attended Fort Hays State. During the

2008 season, she was the starting libero for the Tigers, she

averaged 4.87 digs per set.

This camp is for the aspiring volleyball player with the desire to

improve their skills. Athletes will receive instruction, competition, and

an opportunity to have fun playing volleyball.

Summer Slam - Team Camp

Team camp is set up in a two-day format. Day one will be pool play

followed by seeded bracket play for day two. Champions of each
