BMI function: The Body Mass Index correlates height and weight to one another. A toler-

ance zone considered to be ideal from a health point of view is between

18.5 and 24.9. If the value is higher or lower, medical advice should be

obtained.

BMIF - Breast Milk Intake Function:The amount of milk taken by a baby when being breast-fed can be ascer-

tained with the aid of the Breast Milk Intake Function. At the touch of a

button, the weight of the baby determined before feeding is stored and then

deducted from the weight determined after feeding (difference function).

Limit value function: For effective control of patients, one can preset a weight limit and an alarm

rings if this is exceeded.

Damping function:The damping function makes it possible to determine the precise weight

in spite of disturbances during the weighing process, e.g. caused by the

patient moving. The degree of damping can be adjusted to the respective

requirements before weighing a patient: the stronger the damping the less

sensitively the scale reacts to the movements during the weighing process.

HOLD function: After storing the weight with the HOLD button, the display continues to

show the weight even after the scale is no longer in use. This means that

a patient can first be attended-to before one takes the time to note down

the value.

Mother/child function: This function was developed to enable the weighing of children in the arms

of their parents. When the mother/child function is activated, the previously

stored weight of the adult is deducted from the currently determined value.

The display then only shows the weight of the child, with an accuracy of

down to 50 g.

Multirange function:seca scales with multirange function provide for the quick switch-over from

one weighing range to another. One can select between a fine graduation

or a high load range. In weighing range 1, a higher graduation is available

at a reduced capacity; in weighing range 2, full use can be made of the

maximum capacity.

Pre-TARE function: When activated, a previously stored value is automatically deducted from

the currently measured weight. For example, when carer and patient stand

on the scale together and only the weight of the patient is to be shown.

Smartcard: With the aid of this card, it is possible to ascertain the net weight of a patient

simply and quickly with aids such as wheelchair or a walking frame without

having to repeatedly weigh these aids. One just has to insert the patient’s

card into the Smartcard station and the weight of the aid is automatically

subtracted from the total weight and the display shows the net weight of

the patient.

TARE function: Useful when any additional weight (e.g. nappies or blankets of babies/small

children and also chairs or wheelchairs) is not to be included in the result.

First, this additional weight is measured and then the display is tared to zero.

The weight of this object is then disregarded at the next weighing.

Obesity is the fastest growing health problem in the world. This battery-operated digi-

tal scale has been especially developed for weighing obese patients. With a weighing

range of up to 800 lbs and a 23 1/4 x 23 1/4" large, only 2 inch high non-slip platform,

it is a sturdy base for overweight, or obese, patients. A chair may also be used on

the scale (and will not influence the weighing result due to the pre-TARE function).

The cable remote display with easy to read LCD can be held, wall mounted or placed

on a table. The 0.2 lbs graduation means that the smallest changes in weight are

registered, even after the patient has left the scale – thanks to the HOLD function.

The integrated Body Mass Index (BMI) function also emphasises the many uses of

This model is capable of storing and recognizing various wheelchair weights. When

weighing a person in a wheelchair and using the Smartcard, the station automati-

cally deducts the individual wheelchair weight. Only the patient’s weight is shown on

the display. The Smartcard can be kept on the wheelchair in a special card holder.

By using any number of cards, it is possible to account for various wheelchairs with

various weights. This enhanced model, of course, possesses all the advantages and

functions of the seca 664.

Stable, functional and mobile: thanks to its generously sized platform and the robust

railing, the seca 676 is ideal for diverse uses. For example, patients can be weighed

sitting in a wheelchair or on a chair. Frail patients or patients who have difficulty

walking have the possibility of using the railing as support. When no longer in use,

the seca 676 can be folded together in no time at all, thus saving storage space. The

firm locking device between the railing and platform ensures that the scale stands

safely also when folded together. When folded together, the railing serves as handle

The seca 472 stand is the stable solution for cable remote displays of seca scales

and measuring rods seca 882, seca 242, seca 634, seca 674, seca 676 and seca 984.

The stable construction of high grade steel tubing is a practical alternative to the

table stand or wall mounting. Equipped with non-slip rubber feet, it can be positioned

everywhere quickly and securely. The display element can easily be attached to the

stand by means of a stable bracket. The height of the display is continuously adjust-

able up to 100 cm.

It’s simple: just insert the Smartcard into the station – and the patient’s net weight ap-

weights, thus alleviating the daily routine of doctors and care givers. The Smartcard

This A/C UL adapter-operated, generously sized wheelchair/platform scale is multi-

functional: for weighing patients in care, for especially heavy patients, or for weighing

persons in a wheelchair. It is especially useful for seated patients, such as during

dialysis. The flexible cable remote display can be placed wherever it is most com-

fortable to read off the result and to operate the controls, e.g. on the desk. A wall

Every ounce counts when lying in bed.Our bed and dialysis scale has been

carefully tested in the past by special-

ists and intensive-care consultants, in

dialysis and burn units, and found to be

ideal. It is now also being used to an in-

creasing extent in nursing homes. While

every ounce is important in the case

of immobile patients, precision is what

counts. The bed and dialysis scales from

seca with their alarm function can assist

critical monitoring. For example, in the

case of clinical procedures involving the

loss of fluid or special fluid turnover, or

Always in use: the seca 984 facilitates the easy, gentle and precise weighing of bed-

ridden patients and is an indispensable aid in dialysis and intensive-care. With the

integrated lifts, four measuring platforms can be placed easily and effortlessly under

the castors of the bed. The previously determined weight of the bed is deducted using

the pre-TARE function and the patient’s precise weight is determined. In the event of

a power failure, the scale stores all previously displayed values using rechargeable

the Body Mass Index (BMI) – one of the few internationally acknowledged values

when it is a question of obtaining a meaningful weight-height ratio. With our new

battery and solar-operated BMI calculator seca 491, every doctor, nurse and care

giver can determine the BMI value simply and quickly in a few steps.

This elegant bicycle ergometer captures all the important information necessary

in endurance tests with every pulse beat – even if the speed at which the patient

cycles fluctuates. Calibration at the push of a button and automatic function control

To save space, seca also supplies a version without equipment trolley. Here, we

have integrated the electronics necessary to capture the weighing results obtained

It is moisture and detergent-proof. The display unit can be attached to the wall with

the standard seca fixing device and removed in no time at all. Alternatively, the

display can also be mounted on the optional mobile stand seca 472.
