To broaden the historical research to encourage more expansive, longer duration research on important questions at the interface of science, medicine and the humanities.

Focus funding to fewer, larger awards and continue to support a number of personal awards (fellowships, UAs).

• Conferences, Symposia, Seminar Series: financial support for organising academic meetings of all kinds (up to £5,000)
