Medical abbreviations are commonly used. Medical abbreviations are being added

regularly.Medical abbreviations may have more than

one meaning. You must read and determine use.

However the Institute for Safe Medication Practice (ISMP) has developed a list of “Do Not Use” and “Error Prone”

Each week a list of abbreviations will be presented.

Abbreviation will be define in the teams. A team is assigned to make flashcards. Flashcards will be submitted to Mrs. N by

Wed. Once approved copied for all students. Keep all flashcards, as the abbreviation will

compound on each other for the next two years and beyond.
