Our award-winning designers, photogra-phers and writers cover the high energy andexcitement of all sports from the four cornersof Tennessee. From high school and collegeevents to the exciting realm of professionalfootball, baseball, basketball, hockey or golf –rest assured – Tennessee Sports will be there.

And lets not forget the great outdoors ofbeautiful Tennessee where hunting and fish-ing reign supreme. Larry Woody, who is con-sidered one of the finest writers and leadingauthorities on the subject, brings his keeninsight and humor to Tennessee Sports eachmonth with a unique feature, column and out-doors calendar.

As an added feature to our readers we areexpanding our coverage to include all types ofevents from equestrian to swimming; rockclimbing to NASCAR. Tennessee Sports' mis-sion is to bring you captivating and uniquestories of the many different ways we playtogether in the name of SPORTS!

January – Mid-Winter Tournament Action – Nobodydoes it better than TSMAt the mid-way point of the 2010-11 basketball season, thisissue will glance back at the first half of the boys and girlsbasketball season and take a hard look at the gruelingmonths of February and March. We will also preview the myr-iad of mid-winter tournament action. The January issue willalso include a feature on high school hockey with a Predator’supdate.

February – Post-season play begins and that meansMarch Madness is right around the cornerFor basketball fans this is the most exciting time of the yearwhen the phrases ‘one and done’ and ‘winner-take-all’ is thebattle cry of every fan. The February issue will give a com-plete look at boys and girls teams expected to be in the huntfor a deep post season run. This issue will also have featurestories from legendary coaches and players who have madethe exciting and sometimes heartbreaking trip down theMarch Madness trail. We’ll take a look at wrestling favoritesacross the mid-state too.

March – A recap of the high school basketball seasonand time to dust off the golf clubsIn the March issue we’ll recap the 2010-11 high school andcollege basketball and hockey seasons and name ourTennessee Sports Magazine boys and girls ‘Players of theYear.’ TSM will include our signature pictorial spread of thestate tournament action for winter sports as well. And withwarm weather we will highlight the local golf scene and getyou ready to hit the links. We’ll also use the March issue toget you ready for the fast pace of the high school springsport’s seasons.

April – Spring forward with high school and collegebaseball, softball, tennis, soccer and trackHigh school spring sports will take center stage in MiddleTennessee and Tennessee Sports will be there to keep you inthe game. The April issue will also highlight our local collegebaseball and softball programs and feature our own NashvilleSounds. It’s time for fishing action too.

May – Spring Post-Season PreviewIt’s our first anniversary and the May issue of TennesseeSports Magazine will recap the season and get our readersready for post-season action in baseball, softball, tennis, soc-cer and track. We will also continue our golf coverage ofMiddle Tennessee’s finest courses. With May being the monthwhen we honor Mothers, we will also look at some of thewomen behind the scenes of the players and coaches inMiddle Tennessee.

June – Recap the Spring Sports Season and Father-SonDuosIn the June issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine we will nameour male and female baseball and softball players of the yearand our boys and girls track athletes of the year. In honor ofFather’s Day we will also explore some notable MiddleTennessee father and son duos from several sports.

July – No Down TimeIn the July issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine we’ll showyou firsthand that there is no such thing as ‘down time’ forMiddle Tennessee amateur and professional athletes as wechart the very active summer months of several male andfemale athletes. We also plan to use the July issue to starteasing our readers into the upcoming football season high-lighting what goes on in area football camps. Expect ourTitan’s updates too.

August – Middle Tennessee High School Football

PreviewAugust is special at Tennessee Sports Magazine as we take aninside look at the 2011 high school football season includingpreviews of some of the area’s top football talent. This issuewill also contain a preview of boys and girls golf and cross-country and girls’ volleyball. And more Titan’s updates.

September – Mid-Season Football, Cross-Country,Volleyball and Golf ReportThe September issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine will pro-vide a mid-season report on football, cross-country and golfand highlight outstanding performances by area athletes dur-ing the first half of the fall sports season. This issue will alsostart taking a peek at potential playoff contenders. We’ll alsocontinue our popular look back at area teams and playersfrom the past that have excelled on the gridiron.

October – Football Playoff Preview‘The games you remember are the games in November.’ Thatphrase will be the battle cry of many area football coacheswhen the playoff pairings are announced. Tennessee SportsMagazine will provide in-depth coverage with its playoff pre-view edition. This issue will also feature boys and girls golfcoverage about players and teams headed to post seasonplay along with full-coverage of the volleyball post-seasonpicture. The October issue will also include a special featureabout the wives behind the scene and detail what it’s like tobe the wife of a football coach.

November – From the Gridiron to the Hard CourtThis is a transition month for Tennessee Sports Magazine aswe put a wrap on the 2010 high school football season andslowly make the shift to round ball. Along with wrapping upthe football season we will also highlight outstanding teamand individual performances in golf, volleyball and crosscountry. The November issue will also include boys and girlsbasketball and bowling previews and feature stories aboutnew basketball coaches in our area. We’ll include our pictori-al spread of the state golf tournament in this one as well.

December – Yuletide Cheer and High School Basketball… What a Great CombinationWhen it comes to holiday basketball tournaments MiddleTennessee provides a virtual feast for high school and collegebasketball junkies and the December issue will be able toquench that appetite with previews of tournaments through-out the region. TSM will bring you Titan’s updates with in-depth feature stories. Pictorial feature on the state tourna-ments for football, volleyball, cross country, and soccer too.What a Christmas present from Tennessee Sports Magazineto you!

… and there’s more.Each issue of Tennessee Sports Magazine will also feature amonthly ‘TSM Standouts’ athletes of the month and duringthe calendar year we will also highlight sports that are often-times overlooked by the news media such as bicycling,kayaking, equestrian, and fishing. Look for Outdoor Sportsstories from Larry Woody and a ‘Look Between the Lines’ withRudy Kalis. We will include monthly columns on sports activ-ities at Vanderbilt, Trevecca, Lipscomb, Middle TennesseeState, Belmont, Tennessee State and Austin Peay. TSM willhave a monthly contribution from a variety ofcolumnists/sports enthusiasts that include Kathy Steakleywith “Sports Mom Spotlight” – a look at the sometimes hec-tic and oftentimes wacky world of raising young children thatare involved in multiple sports. Tennessee Sports Magazinewill also feature a monthly column by the Fellowship ofChristian Athletes entitled “Faith on the Field” and anotherrecurring monthly column, ’Shut up and Serve’ written byformer USC and professional volleyballer, Dave DeRocher.
