„sb“ 1/2014: Sporthallen und ArenenThe Old Hellerup secondary school in Denmark is an example of unobtrusive architecture. Bjarke
Ingels, founder of BIG, went to school here and extending the range of (games) opportunities was therefore dear to his heart – and also a subject of our issue on sports halls and arenas.
„sb“ 2/2014: Sport in der Stadt
Urban sports activities take place in many kinds of sports facilities and exercise spaces, i.e. in tradi-tional sports facilities like the small sports ground around the corner or the new school gymnasium
as well as in informal spaces and zones like playgrounds and skate parks.
We’d be happy to include your ideas on urban sport.

The Bao’An Stadium in Shenzhen (China) won Gold at the IOC/IAKS Award 2013 because it em-bodied the cultural features of its location in exemplary fashion. We look forward to seeing wheth-er the stadia for the 2014 World Cup will emulate this example. The opening match between Brazil and Croatia will take place in São Paulo on 12 June and the final in the fully modernised Maracanã
Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on 13 July.

In high summer and the holiday season, swimming pools are naturally a fitting topic. Neverthe-less, we are not confining ourselves to outdoor pools, bathing ponds and giant slides – competitive
swimming along with relaxation and recreation are also possible subjects. What do you associate summer with?

„sb“ 5/2014: Nachhaltigkeit Many sports facilities are hailed as being highly sustainable. But what does this mean?
Is sustainability merely a promotional slogan? And can large sports facilities ever been truly sustainable?
The year 2014 is being brought to a close with an issue presenting sports facility development in its full diversity. We are therefore focusing not only on swimming pools, sports grounds and sports
halls, but also on niches, trends – and the future.
We’d be delighted to receive your ideas on this subject.

At www.iaks.org and http://iaks.org/de/sb-magazine, you can find an abundance of further infor-mation on current and coming issues – details of subscriptions and offers as well as the “sb” ar-
chive in which you can thumb through all issues of the last few years online.
At short intervals, we also present projects from the current issues here. So it’s always worth paying us a visit on a regular basis.

FachbeiträgeIndependently of the main theme, “sb” gives you the chance to draw attention to your activities.
We have reserved an area devoted to technical innovations and particularly to features and the equipment of sports facilities, e.g. playing surfaces, access control,

An offprint is a marvellous way of presenting case studies, e.g. at meetings with clients. At trade fairs, conferences and seminars, an offprint is always useful as a high-grade promotional
medium.
For an offprint, our article in “sb” is adopted unchanged and extended by two pages: the “sb” title layout with a picture of your choice and the back cover with your advertisement or
company presentation.
A two-page article in the issue is thus converted into a four-page offprint. A print run of 1,000 copies costs EUR 1,450 plus VAT.
If we print 2,000, the price increases only minimally to EUR 1,600 plus VAT.
An eight-page offprint of a six-page article costsEUR 2,250 plus VAT for 1,000 copies and
EUR 2,500 plus VAT for 2,000 copies
