ENGINE & TRANSMISSIONThe new S-Cross Turbo and Turbo Prestige both come with a powerful 1.4 litre Boosterjet Turbo engine – so superior performance and driving pleasure go hand in hand.

The Boosterjet is a newly developed direct-injection turbo engine that produces a smooth surge of responsive power while also delivering superb fuel economy. The instant acceleration performs like a larger engine and adds to the agility of every drive.

Helping generate greater torque from lower speeds, the new Turbo engine’s enhanced efficiency helps achieve an economical fuel consumption rate of just 5.9L/100km*. In fact, from city peak hour to country back roads, the Boosterjet Turbo engine optimises your power and efficiency wherever you’re travelling, while significant structural weight savings result in an impressive power-to-weight ratio.

The 6-speed automatic transmission with expansive gear change ratios ensure high performance even at low speeds such as standing starts and hill climbs as well as improved fuel efficiency at high speeds. Plus, a manual mode enables the driver to change gear using paddles on the steering wheel.

SUSPENSION Newly evolved high-performance suspension: The S-Cross Turbo features MacPherson-strut suspension on the front wheels. This is a lighter, stiffer suspension frame with increased dimensions for the struts which help provide superior handling stability. The rear wheels have torsion beam suspension which give a better feeling of stability as the car is cornering, while enhanced spring coils lead to superior ride comfort. The benefits of numerous tests on European roads have led to optimal damper tuning that give a healthier combination of handling stability and ride comfort.

ESC – If the wheels lose traction, ESC automatically adjusts the engine and brakes to improve stability in order to help keep the driver in control.

ABS, EBD, and BA – ABS to retain steering ability when the need occurs to brake hard, EBD as a preventative measure to distribute more braking force to wheels that are carrying a heavier load & BA to deliver added braking power when you need to complete an emergency stop.

Hill-hold control – A hill-hold control function makes hill-starts easy by preventing the S-Cross from rolling backward when the driver moves their foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal.

TECT (Total Effective Control technology) – The body exemplifies Suzuki’s TECT (Total Effective Control Technology) concept resulting in a structure that proficiently absorbs and disperses the energy in the event of a collision.

SAFETY

In the S-Cross Turbo, exceptional performance is crossed with advanced safety features.

Enjoy the protection that comes with 7 airbags (dual front, side and curtain airbags and a knee airbag for the driver), Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Suzuki’s Total Effective Control Technology (TECT). While ABS brakes with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA) deliver reassuring stopping power. All these features are standard on both grades.

Seven airbags –

n Front airbags for the driver and passenger – mitigate the collision forces inflicted on the head in the event of a frontal impact.

n Driver’s knee airbag – restrains the driver’s leg to mitigate the collision forces inflicted on the driver’s legs and controls the driver’s posture.

n Side airbags for the driver and front passenger – mitigate the collision forces inflicted on the chest and lumbar area in the event of a side impact.

n Left and right curtain airbags – mitigate the collision forces inflicted on the head in the event of a side impact.

CONVENIENCE

430 litres (VDA) of luggage space: Simple to rearrange and one of the largest capacities in the category, even with five people on board. By folding down the 60:40-split rear seatback, you can expand the space in diverse ways. A multi-position luggage board gives even greater flexibility.

Adjustable rear seatback: The rear seatback can be set at either of two angles. One encourages relaxation; the other creates extra luggage space.

Keyless push start system: If you’re carrying the S-Cross’s remote-control unit, you can lock and unlock the doors and start the engine without using a key.

Rear parking sensors (Turbo Prestige only): Ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper help with parking by detecting obstacles and issuing warnings that the driver can see on the multi-information display and hear as beeps.

Dual-zone automatic air conditioner: The air conditioner provides personalised comfort by allowing the driver and front passenger to set temperatures independently of each other.

Front centre armrest and console box with USB port: The front centre armrest can be slid to optimal positioning. It incorporates a console box with a built-in USB port.

Rear centre armrest with cup holders: A retractable centre armrest heightens comfort for rear passengers. It incorporates cup holders for two people.

Seatback pocket: A pocket on the back of the front passenger seat is just the right size for maps and books.

Overhead console with map lamps: The overhead console contains map lamps and a holder for sunglasses.

Extra convenience: The luggage area incorporates a 12V DC power socket and hooks for holding luggage in place.

Automatic wipers and lights (Turbo Prestige only): Wipers start automatically when they sense raindrops, adjusting their speed to match the extent of rainfall and the speed of the car. Head and tail lamps turn on and off in accordance with the ambient brightness.
