AVIAREPS was founded in Munich, Germany in 1994 with the ambition to help airlines, destinations andhospitality brands to step into global markets. For more than 25 years, we’ve been committed to helpingsuch brands navigate this competitive and ever-evolving industry to influence where and how people chooseto spend their time and money.
Today, we are the world’s leading international representation, marketing and communications company foraviation, tourism, hospitality and food & beverage brands. Our Leadership: Executive Profiles
Michael Gaebler began his career by joining one of the world's largesttravel agency chains, CIT, in 1980. After gaining valuable experiencethere, he decided to pursue his true passion, aviation. Michael firstentered the industry by joining well-known airline brands such asGerman Wings and IBERIA, where he held several managementpositions in both Munich and Berlin.
At the age of 32, Michael decided to break new ground by setting up hisown general sales agent business. He recognized the signs of the timesand successfully encouraged airlines to cut costs and simultaneouslyadd value by outsourcing sales and marketing services. Though thecompany first focused on the German market, Michael quickly realizedthe global potential of his business model and service platforms and sethis sights on international markets. Soon after founding the company,he began developing a network of international offices that continues togrow steadily today.
As a logical progression to expanding the company group, Michaelfurther diversified and specialized the company’s client portfolio tocater to tourism entities such as destinations, hotels, car rentals, cruiselines and attractions, as well as retail brands and groupings, and tradepromotion authorities and organizations. Michael laid the groundworkof innovation and diversification for AVIAREPS and continues to help thecompany grow as Chairman of the Board.
A passionate sailor, Michael Gaebler always has his eye on the horizonand is prepared for stormy weather – eager for new challenges andopportunities.
After graduating with a degree in tourism management, Edgar Lackermoved from Austria to work for one of Munich's leading hotels. He thendecided to follow his passion for air travel, gaining experience with atravel agency that specialized in airline ticket sales, before joining theflight department of a well-known tour operator 3 years later.
In 1998, Edgar joined the AVIAREPS Group as a sales manager where hisvaluable industry knowledge and strong commitment to success werethe basis for growing the market shares and revenues of three onlineairlines and AVIAREPS' largest client at the time. Edgar was soon afterpromoted to General Manager of the Frankfurt office and contributedconsiderably to the steady growth of clients in the German market.
As the VP of Passenger Sales Germany and a board member, he was notonly responsible contracted airline sales in Germany, but he also activelycontributed to the AVIAREPS network and supervised the subsidiaries inBenelux, Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
As Executive VP Europe, Edgar Lacker was responsible for AVIAREPS’extensive European network. In this role, he focused on the supervisionand development of the region, mentoring the management team andoptimizing company procedures. Edgar was also responsible for theacquisition of new clients and the establishment of various businessstructures within the European markets. Due to his valuable dedicationand expertise, Edgar was recently promoted to the position of CEO.
His dedication to fly-fishing is also applicable to his work life: he knowsexactly how to place the bait to reach the target!

AVIACOLLECT is tailored to the needs of travelers and local travel agents, seeking an online, one-stop shop, as it offers all types of additional travel services to enhance clients’ travel experience. From VIP lounge access and exclusive tours to car rentals and travel insurance, users can easily add services to their trip and book them in AVIACOLLECT. For even more convenience, languages, currencies and even visa information is specific to each country or region.

By nature, the stakeholders in the travel industry are scattered across the globe, which means that traveling long distances for trade events becomes a huge consideration when managing time and budgets. This is the case for destinations and their audiences in the media and travel trade alike.
