(May2017-June2018)TheMedia:GraphicDesignCoordinatorwillberesponsibleforoverseeingthecreationofgraphics,logos,andflyersforSPACES,itsprogramsandservices.Job-SpecificResponsibilities
• Conceptualizeanddesignprint,digital,andmultimediagraphicsforSPACESfromconceptthroughproduction;• Developaprocesstoreceiverequests(i.e.,electronicorpaperform,GoogleDoc,etc.);• Designandproducevariouspublicationssuchasads,banners,signs,brochures,handbooks,posters,flyers,and
websitegraphicsforeventshostedbySPACESandaffiliates;• Createartwork,graphics,logos,andphotographs;• Establishformatsandtemplatesforprintedmaterialsincludingspecificationsforarangeofpublicitypieces;• Identify,determine,andobtainappropriatecolorschemes,imagery,graphicsorphotographyforprojects;• Producecomplexgraphicdesignsbycreatingandmanagingelectronicfiles,fonts,andsupportinggraphics.• Preparefilesforelectronicoutput(PDFs,AIs,TIFFs,JPEGs)forprinters,utilizingappropriateproceduresand
software,verifyingaccuracyandintegrityoffilecollection;• AssisttheMedia:Web&MarketingCoordinatorwiththedesignlayoutofthewebsiteandeNews;• MaintainSPACESmaterialsuchasbusinesscards,pamphlets,etc.;• CollaboratewiththeMedia:Web&MarketingCoordinatortocreateSPACESmarketingproducts;• MaintaincommunicationforrequeststhroughSPACESGraphicDesignGmail;• Serveasaliaisonwithoff-campusvendorsinthedesign,production,anddistributionofmarketingmaterials;• DocumentandarchiveallgraphicsonSPACESSharedDrive.
GeneralResponsibilities
• Availabletoworkonoccasionaleveningsandweekends;• Participateinbi-weeklyone-to-onemeetingswithfull-timestaff,co-directors,andco-coordinators.• Participateinmandatoryweeklystaffmeetings,eachThursdayfrom3:30-4:50pm;• Participateinmandatoryweeklyprojectgroupmeetings,eachTuesdayfrom3:30-4:30pm;• Fully engage in activities that facilitate holistic development, which may involve personal and emotional
investments;• MeetwithmembersoftheSPACESBoardofDirectorsand/orCoreOrganizations,asneeded;• Complete paperwork, including project proposal forms and Triton Activities Planner (TAP), to receive project
funding;• AssistwithFrontDeskcoverageandreceptionatleastonehouraweek;• AssistwithSPACESadministrativedutiesincludingdataentry,photocopying,typing,andcustomerservice;• Assistinfacilitymaintenanceincluding,butnotlimitedtobasiccleaning,furniturerearrangements,andsupply
inventory;• Consistently document and evaluate the effectiveness of all activities through the use of the SPACES Shared
Drive,Post-ProgramReportForm,andParticipantDatabase;• Submitquarterandend-of-yearevaluationsofyourinternshipexperiencetogiveanoverallassessmentofyour
positionandproviderecommendationsforfutureimprovements;• Coordinateaself-initiatedprojectduringfall,winter,orspringquarter;• Buildandmaintainconnectionswithstudents,staff,and/orfacultymemberswhoarealliestoSPACES;• CollaboratewithSPACESStafftopromotetheSPACESMissiontoimprovecampusclimateforallstudents;

• Provideadministrative support for SPACES sponsoredevents and communityevents in relation toaccessandretentioninitiatives;
• Otherdutiesasassigned.Job-specificQualifications
• DemonstrateproficiencywithvarioussoftwarepackagessuchasAdobeCreativeSuite,MSWord,PageMaker,Excel,Access,Powerpoint,andOutlook;

underrepresentedandunderservedbackgrounds;• Eligibility: Anyone who will not be employed at OASIS or one of UCSD’s Campus Community Centers (Black
ResourceCenter,Cross-CulturalCenter,LGBTResourceCenter,RazaResourceCentro,Women’sCenter)orinahigh-demand student leadership roles for the 2015-2016 school year (e.g. chair/vice-chair of a studentorganization);
• SPACESStudentStaffmustputtheirpositionastheirfirstpriorityifemployedanywhereelse.InternWeeklyHourDistributionOfficeHoursAllSPACESstudentstaffmembersareexpectedtocarryoutmajorityoftheworkwithinthecenter.Thisistoensurethatastudentstaffmember ispresentatall timesduringthecenter’shoursofoperationaswellas toencouragestudentstaff to build their organizational skills andmanage their timewell by completingmajority of the work within theircenter.Beavailabletohelpoutwithadministrativetasksaroundthecentersuchaseventset-up,managingthefrontdesk,chores,assistingcommunitymembers,etc.All-StaffMeetingsAll-Staff meetings occur on a weekly basis. They serve to create and build community with full-time staff, co-coordinators,co-directors,andinterns.ProjectGroupMeetingsProjectGroupmeetingsareweeklymeetings that serveasa supportiveandcollaborativespace for the initiationanddevelopmentofstudentinternworkandprojects.One-to-OneMeetings

One-to-onesarebi-weeklymeetingsthatserveasatimefortheinternstocheckinwithsupervisorysupportabouthowtheyaredoingwithintheworkplaceaswellasacademicallyandpersonally.AdditionalMeetings/Events/FieldHoursThe remainder of the weekly hours is more flexible that can be used for various internal/external meetings andassisting/coordinating/facilitatingevents. If there areno scheduledmeetings and/or events thatweek, allocate thesehourstoworkinginthecenter.Theseinclude:
