Media AS BriefThis year for my As Media coursework I was given a brief to

design a college magazine front cover and contents page. This should be aimed at students and feature 4 of my own

images.

Before starting the magazine I wanted to do a couple of things, firstly I wanted to create some simple magazine

covers, one of my own personal interest and one student style magazine.

And to improve my knowledge for what my magazine content should be about I ran a poll on my blog, to see

what real students want to read and know about.

Magazine Mock Ups

This is my mock up student magazine using online images. I have used simple easy to use colours and I hae tried to include subjects that I thought students would be interested in.

This is a motorbike mock up magazine that I designed. I used a selection of online Images and I also tried to include interesting articles.

My first magazine was good, but not great. I had then another brief, now designing a music magazine front cover, contents, and a double page spread article. I used a range of magazines and internet sources to help my research

I now did another poll to see what my magazine should have (the result can be found on my blog).

I also wanted to look at image editing to help me to create a great magazine.

So I did a photoshoot for my magazine and began to edit some photographs

My WorkMy MagazinesThrough from my first magazine to my final music magazine I feel there is great development through my work. The first magazine I did was simple, but then after much research I was able to develop my ideas to create a great professionally finished music magazine.

My BlogMy blog has been updated with key things throughout my progress and also help (using public voting polls) but I could of updated it further after every lesson which I didn't do. But if I was to do it again I would update the blog more frequently.

Time ManagementTowards the end of the music magazine I spent a lot of time considering the layout and editing the images which did effect my time management as I was rushing to complete my work at the end.

My SkillsI already had some good skills on Photoshop, but since completing my magazine I have to use more tools to get the express images magazine ready which has significantly improved my skills . Also I had never used quark before and after using it I now have the ability to use quark successfully to produce a high quality magazine.

Overall I feel I created a great final magazine and improved my computer skills significantly , I could of managed my time a little better by making quicker decisions when deciding layouts and editing .
