Thethirdeditionofthenationalmediaconferencefocusesonabroadertheme-GenderIdentity& Changing News Paradigms. This two-day national conference creates a platform foracademicians,socialscientists,journalists,researchscholarsandstudentsfromfarandwidetoinvestigateanddebateonthediverseperspectivesofthethemesrangingfromtheconstructofgender identities to its myriad representations inmedia. Moreover in the course of three decadeswomen have entered journalism in India insubstantial numbers, making their mark in everyform of media. While they still continue to be aminority, the questions are often raised on theirrepresentations.Theconferencealsostressesonthealternation of paradigms in the news and othermedialandscapeswiththearrivalofthedigitalage.Thenew-agenewsdiscourseshavebecomecomplexintermsofitsstylebutsimplerinitspresentation.The intertwining of the themes makes theconferencemulti-fociatonesideandatthesametimeallowsamultidisciplinarydeliberationfortheparticipants.
