2. Message from Head of the Department

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Students and Alumni:

It is a matter of great pleasure to present before you yet another issue of Newsletter of

Mechanical Engineering Department “MECHVISION”. Department is indebted to our

respected Principal, who gave this opportunity to summarize the achievements of our

students, faculty members and staff members.

The last six months of experience in Mechanical department has been humbling to say the

least. The department truly embraces the saying, “The capacity to learn is a gift, the ability to

learn is a skill and the willingness to learn is a choice”. Every faculty member in the

department has undergone several trainings in order to upgrade their knowledge and

incorporate innovative practices for intellectual property generation. True power of

knowledge is in its application and the innovative practices of the department have lead to

filing of three patents within last six months. I am proud to share with all of you that there

have been several faculty members who have authored technical books which showcases the

level of expertise that the department carries. Several faculty members have delivered expert

sessions on varied topics at several academic institutes of state and national importance. The

department also conducted a FDP sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL)

Academy. Through this newsletter, we intend to showcase information about various events

and activities that happened during last semester in the department.

The newsletter would not have been possible without supports of all teaching and supporting

staff members of the department and I am thankful to them. Any constructive suggestion for

improving the future issues is most welcomed.

Training in the field of “Welding of Aluminum for Space Application” from 31st

August to 2nd September 2020. Training had theoretical and concept based learning as

well as practical sessions.

Project works at CoE welding:

-Nivaran: Students from Biomedical Engineering Department developed a system for

Testing of COVID-19 System using modern sensors and controller to detect the

symptoms of Corona virus.

-PRAN: This system was developed by Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering

students and Keepsake Engineering and consultancy as a Respiratory support system

for COVID positive patients. This device can provide mixture of atmospheric oxygen

and Fio2 using controlled feedback loop which can match with respiration of patient.
