AIM
Aim of the course is to enable the participant to achieve a high degree of competency and a
knowledge of the safe working practices in Oxy/Gas Flame Cutting.
PRE-REQUISITE
No previous knowledge of Flame cutting is required.
OPTIMUM NUMBER
The optimum number for the course will be eight although by special arrangement
a slight increase or decrease in the numbers can be accommodated.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
On completion of the course the learner will be capable of:
• Being aware of the safety requirements involved whilst using Flame cutting
equipment
• Identifying and storing cylinders
• Identifying, selecting and assembling Flame Cutting Equipment
• Selecting the correct nozzle size and gas pressures

The aim of the course is to train selected people in the skills and knowledge needed to

A Knowledge of Pedestal and Portable grinding equipment is required.

should be observed.
• Methods of marking Abrasive Wheels as to type and speed.
• Methods of storing, handling and transporting Abrasive Wheels.
