A selection of works by greatRussian masters of the early20th century aims to highlightthe singular characteristics ofRussian Avant-garde art. Theexhibition features 60 paint-ings and architectural modelsof Russian art on loan from theTretyakov State Gallery andRussian regional museums. Itis articulated in eight differentthematic sections, dedicatedto Cubo-Futurism with itsunique synthesis of Europeantrends of the time, to the orig-inality of Abstract art, to Con-

structivism with its architectural compositions, and to Suprema-tism with its geometric purity. Curators have documented thebirth and development of Avant-garde art in Russia highlightingthe influence of artists such as Cezanne, Gauguin, Picasso andthe Cubist-Futurist French art movement. On display among oth-ers, there are works by Kazimir Malevich and Vladimir Tatlin, Wass-ily Kandinsky and Aristarkh Lentulov, Marc Chagall, Robert Falk,Aleksandr Rodchenko and Mikhail Larionov, as well as a goodselection of women artists such as Natalia Goncharova, OlgaRozanova, Lubov Popova, Nadezhda Udaltsova, Aleksandra Ekster.The event inaugurates a new exhibition space within the Muse-um where the archaeological collection has also been re-arranged.

Paradise comes to life in13 tableaux, each inspired by a different contemporary artist. revival broke into mainstream rock in the 80s. A recent revivalhas given it new popularity. Rome celebrates the scene with asuccessful festival now in its second edition, featuring concertsby some of the best bands of the genre, a Chopper and Kus-tom car show, as well as an open-air village with vintage stalls,pubs and grills.
