• RESALE ROYALTY – Started on the 9th of June 2010 but is currently under review and at risk of being reversed.
– commercial resales of artworks over $1,000 (including GST) must be reported; and
– a 5% royalty is payable on some resales. – The Australian government appointed Copyright Agency as the administrator.

• PPSR – KEY POINTS – if you have a commercial consignment arrangement with a gallery or dealer you have what is now known as a ‘security interest’ in that art.
– applies to commercial consignments where an ar9st consigns art works to a gallery or dealer to be sold and where both par9es trade in art in the ordinary course of business.

Applying For Grants
When making an application for funding your aim is to optimise your chances of being successful.
There are 4 major parts in optimising your chances. They are:
• having an idea or purpose that is seen to be worthy of funding
• finding the appropriate funding agency(s)
• preparing the best possible application and support material, and
• being able to successfully acquit any funds received.
Applying for exhibitions, grants, etc….
TIPS:• Research, research, research….then select.
• Familiarise yourself with the application processes.
• KNOW THE DEADLINES!
• Look slick!
• Get ready to talk about yourself.
You need a close match between your
needs and the agency’s objectives will need to be demonstrated.

Ar-st CV • A good CV should be:
- Focused on your Art Practice
- Organised into categories of information
- Attractive, clear, concise and up to date
- Able to be easily referred to
- Brief (no more than two A4 pages long)
Ar-st CV • Top Tips For CVs
- Use a consistent font, size, colour and style of formatting
- Allow some space for visual breathing room
- Don’t use bold, italics, underline and different size font all at once
- Start with the most recent exhibitions and prizes etc and work back
- Leave out activities that are more than 5 years old unless very relevant / impressive
- Edit back to the most impressive achievements and activities
Artist Statement
• Paragraph 1. What is the project? What/how/when/where? 50 words
• Paragraph 2. Aims: how will it consolidate past work and develop your future practice?

Acquitting the Funds
Acquitting the funds received means providing a report to the funding agency after the project has been completed.
An acquittal would usually include: - a written report outlining what was achieved and whether it was successful - copies of any feedback received & media coverage - a budget breakdown showing how the money was spent.
