You’ll be here before you know it. Maitland is a city located in the heart of the Hunter Valley. Located just two hours north of Sydney (163km) and 30 minutes (32km) north west of Newcastle.
DrivE
From Sydney - Travel over the Sydney Harbour Bridge and follow the A1 (Pacific Highway) towards Hornsby. Before Hornsby (at Wahroonga) take the M1 (Pacific Motorway) and choose one of the following routes:
ROUTE 1: Exit the M1 at the Newcastle interchange and take the M15 (Hunter Expressway) until you reach the Kurri Kurri interchange (14km). Follow Main road into Maitland (8km).
ROUTE 2: Drive to the end of the M1 (Pacific Motorway) and veer left taking the A43 (New England Highway) exit to Maitland (16km).
From Mid North Coast - Travel south following the Newcastle/Sydney/Maitland signage on the A1 (Pacific Highway). Once you reach the Hexham bridge, turn right onto the A43 (New England Highway) and follow to Maitland (20km).
From Newcastle Airport - Exit Newcastle Airport by travelling along Williamtown Drive and turn right onto Nelson Bay Road. At the roundabout take the the Cabbage Tree/Tomago Road exit, follow until you reach the M1 (Pacific Motorway) and turn left, continue until you cross the Hexham Bridge, turn right onto the A43 (New England Highway) exit to Maitland (16km).

Maitland is regularly serviced by Transport NSW TrainLink on the Hunter line with stations at Thornton, Metford, Victoria Street, East Maitland, High Street, Maitland and Telarah.
