Analysis of test results indicated a consistent difference

in torque ripple between high and low displacement

motor sharing the same cam (Typically 2% for low

displacement and 5% for high displacement)

Investigation has revealed that the MCR cam designs

are optimised for low displacement rollers and when

using the larger roller diameter of high displacement

rotary group, the torque ripple increases

Work is ongoing to optimise a separate cam for high and

low displacement motors with an expected motor

efficiency increase of 5% for high displacements

Starting Efficiency Improvements: Optimised Cam
