Student iPad Checkout
Katy ISD is excited to provide the opportunity for our students to take home a digital device for learning.
A student can check out an iPad to use for a school assignment for a one week period, excluding the
Winter and Spring Breaks. If a student needs WiFi access, a “Hot Spot” is also available for checkout for
a five day period. The student’s parent or legal guardian must first meet with the assistant principal to
review the KISD Student/Parent Equipment Use Agreement and sign it along with the student. This docu-
ment will be kept on file for the current school year. The student will be instructed on proper use and
care of the borrowed equipment. Please call the school at 281-237-8000 to set up an appointment.

Basketball Tryouts
2017-2018
Tryouts: October 30th & 31st
7th Grade: (Before School) 5:30 - 7:00am
8th Grade: (After School) 2:45 - 4:15pm
Physicals and all KISD paperwork must be completed and turned in by October 30th. Physicals for the 2017-2018 school year MUST be admin-istered on or after May 1, 2017.
Wear your own clothes/shoes for tryouts. No Jewelry
Attendance at all tryouts is required.
Skills tested will include: Lay-ups, shooting form, dribbling, passing, game play, sprinting, aggressiveness on the court and knowledge of the game rules.

Prepare to pay the membership fee ($9 for individual, $18 for double memberships including printed directory) by cash,

GT News and Information
The MMJH GT department is in need of a parent of a current GT student to represent MMJH at the GT
PAC Meetings.
Serves as a conduit to share information and to solicit feedback related to the GT program in Katy
ISD.
Two evening meetings: February 1st; April 12th; 6:30-8:00 PM

Hospitality Plans a Fun Fall
School staff received a witchy invitation to
enjoy a PTA sponsored sweet treat!
The McMeans PTA Hospitality team of Conlee Alderson, Shelley
Eastland and Alyssa Newcomb hosted a spirited Halloween-themed
fall sweet treat for the staff last October 17. Staff chose their favor-
ite flavor of apple and topped them with warm caramel sauce and
other assorted sweet and salty toppings. The Hospitality committee
greatly appreciates the parent donations of the toppings, and sends
their thanks.
On November 14, Tuesday, the staff will be treated to an unconven-
tional “Nacho Traditional Thanksgiving” nacho bar lunch. A Sign-Up
Genius will be going out for that soon. If you didn't receive the Sign-
Up opportunity for the Halloween treat, then you're not on our email
list. Please contact [email protected] to request be-
ing added to the list if you're interested in donating items for future
Hospitality events like the nacho bar.
As always, we appreciate your help and generosity to help encour-
age and thank our teachers and staff in their pursuit of excellence in
their professions.
