Riding high on a roller-coaster KYLIE DULHUNTY MCGRATH Estate Agents logged a record $5.7 billion in residen- tial sales in the past financial year, with McGrath Hunters Hill among the leading offices. In the year to June 30, McGrath Estate Agents sold 5993 proper- ties worth $5.7 billion, the highest in its 23-year history. The figure was 14 per cent up on the previous financial year, when 5095 properties sold for $5 billion. McGrath Hunters Hill was among the standout offices, sell- ing 285 properties for $361 million. Agent Tracey Dixon had the top sale with 11A Viret St, Hunters Hill, which she sold with Narelle Scott and Nicholas McEvoy for $7.975 million. "This was an exceptional home set on an exclusive peninsula and occupying a stunning waterfront position with uninterrupted views of the Harbour Bridge,- Ms Dixon said. "The magnificent home is set on a big block of land and presented a rare opportunity for families to buy in this exclusive waterfront enclave.- Ms Dixon and Lee Dowdall had the second and third highest sales with 25 The Point Rd, Hunters Hill selling for $6.8 million and 3 Glenview Cres, Hunters Hill fetching $6 million. "Hunters Hill is providing quality buying opportunities at the top end of the market with buyer activity on the rise," Ms Dixon said. She attributed the sales to a high standard of marketing, ex- tensive use of the company database, local knowledge and strong relationships among agents throughout the network. McGrath Eastern Suburbs was the top office with $1.21 billion from 1035 sales. Chief executive John McGrath said for the past two years the office had set the residential sales office Australian record. "We believe, irrespective of market and economic conditions, good agents can deliver the right results for their customers,- he said. "The past 12 months has been somewhat of a roller-coaster in the residential sector with many locations experiencing their toughest conditions for many years, but I believe our results indicate that good sales can still be made in less certain times.
